  • We're into a new week of daily poi spinning tutorials from yours truly! Today we have a poi lesson on timing and direction--one of the most important concepts in poi spinning that I'll be teaching here through the use of extensions. We're going to spend this week exploring this concept through a number of other poi spinning tricks and it'll help you better understand the potential of the tool!

@@DrexFactor The visual you made for when your hands are either apart or together was brilliant. Also to train your brain by clapping on the sides and snapping fingers at top and bottom will be something I know will pay off for me. It's midnight here in Aus but tomorrow I'm looking to nail that exercise which transitions between the moves. Basically just good theory and a exercise to practise with.

This tutorial series couldn’t have been better timing for me. I got my first poi set Sunday (3/29). I have gloved for 4 years and it’s time for me to try another flow art. This series has helped me a lot in short few days I’ve been practicing. Thank you and keep it coming 🤘🏼

I love how we're on the same wavelength mentally, especially when you bring up the circle of fifths, and physics. The only issue for me is that I'm used to Chinese flexible weapons (double chain whips and rope darts). So, difference in technique, and having less length that I can't extend or shorten as I please to increase/decrease velocity and revolution is a little awkward. In spite of that, your way of instructing tells me that split timing techniques will become more comfortable in a few more days of practice.
