    Nearly made me cry watching this 😢 I love that beautiful majestic plane and the powerful motors it has, and the sound it made when it roared up into the sky. I really really hope they bring it back in 2019

    I worked as BA cabin crew and in my mind there was nothing to touch the beauty and elegance of her also the big bird 747 ! Something about watching those planes take off that captures you

    Just an absolutely beautiful aeroplane, the pinnacle of British aerospace engineering. Saw the three Concordes landing one after the other live on TV in Britain, never to be repeated again. Good on the BBC for bringing it to us though sadly I dont think supersonic air travel will ever happen again.

    20 years since. I guarantee you that if people hated Concorde 27 years before this historic moment, that resentment was sure and long gone by the time of this final touchdown.

      +Igor K Actually, New Yorkers couldn't tell the difference between the noise from Concorde and the noise from any other commercial jet, they protested at first but then grew to love Concorde.

    • @freewal
      @freewal 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Igor K Noise is just another stupid reason to kill this beautiful plane because american were jalous of this plane. A french/british creation.

      @columnedfox5508 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      that is true the americas where jelous of it cuz it was fast, and the americans version failed, and it made them hate the british and french built concorde

    I think (unfortunately) we have again the Tech/Internet to blame for the demise of Corcorde. Business men now have Skype/Internet conferencing etc and have no need to fly Supersonic to other Countries as much as before. Very sad. Wish there could be some "Corcorde" Group that could keep one of these beautiful beasts flying.

      well it because of 2 things. Concorde uses a lot of fuel and Concorde produce noise pollution A.K.A sonic boom.

    • @MPIEMDRailfan4
      @MPIEMDRailfan4 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was too expensive to fly and to fly on. Concorde tickets cost over $10,000. There were also concerns of damage to the ozone layer, which were logical given how high the Concorde flew. It was also aged; it required a flight engineer and still had analog controls. Meanwhile, fly-by-wire airliners such as the Boeing 777 and Airbus A320 had been dominating the market. Concorde would just be too expensive to support and not profitable enough to be practical. The best option was to land for good.

    • @ashegheaty
      @ashegheaty 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Triplea135 134 it had noise pollution and high fuel consumption for more than 20 years they killed it after that many years . Makes sense to you ?

    • @macnerd93
      @macnerd93 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually Concorde was one of the first fly-by-wire aircraft it might have had a fully analogue cockpit but the control surfaces were controlled by a primitive computer system impressive for 1960s technology to be fair. It set the foundation for modern airliners today, it also used composite materials in some of its construction as well.
      Source: www.concordesst.com/flightsys.html
      Also Concorde did actually make money for British Airways, 25% of BA profits in the late 1980s came from Concorde flights directly. The Paris Crash and 9/11 screwed Concorde over. 50 of her most frequent flyers were killed in the WTC attacks. The British Airways relaunch after the 2000 Paris crash also occurred on 11th September 2001.
      If those two tragic events had never happened the plan was to retire the Concorde fleet between the years of 2010-2012 that information is from the Project Rocket Team, who started the last refit to Concorde in 2000/01. This is when the airframes would have exhausted their life if flights had continued to 2012 or so.
