I am so impressed with this. Love to see people doing these for a week. Andrew Huberman and Lex would totally exhaust me in the first hour....by I am wayyyyyyy old. Good for you. Great job
This is my favorite video you've done so far. I really enjoy Lex. Tons of great ideas and advice in this video. Thank you for taking the time to do this
OMG, i was just watching your second video ever. I have never seen you and I was totally okay with your editing, talking and overall video quality. Then I have looked at your subs and I was SHOCKED. I thought you were one of those very well known productivity youtubers like Matt d'avella, Ali abdaal, Leon Hendrix etc. but I was wrong, you're not, YET. I think you have a big potential and I think that if you don't give up, then one day you could be as good as they are. You're doing a great job, keep it up, fam 💪
good job. two things: 1. subtitles start to go crazy around 1:45, you're welcome 2. I think the idea of testing sb's routine fails at its base because it only works when it is a routine unless the goal is to try sth that can become part of your own set of habits in the future
Very much appreciate the feedback on captions. And yes, ideally people (including me) would take certain elements of someone else's routine and apply them to their own life. Otherwise it only works for the short time you're trying it.
1 minute in, and I've watched 30mins of lex fridman videos from your clips😂 Thanks for introducing me to his different sides. Now I'll watch your routine journey
I’ve now watching both these “daily routine” videos. Love them. You should do Bedros Keuillian or Andy Frisella next. Would love to see their routines broken down the way you have done with Jordan Peterson and Lex’s
I agree that having some spare time to creatively explore may be limited. Maybe this is allotted during the weekend times, perhaps? I was watching a video about making a comedy skit for one of my children and then ended up watching an interview with Lex Fridman (in the context of diffusing potential arguments)... then looked up his podcast and became inspired to explore the daily routine of someone this well controlled, aware and disciplined enough to interview people for understanding and communicate well. Thank you for sharing your experience in the daily routine, it was inspiring! I am going to explore this topic further!
This is so dope! I’m not familiar with your channel though I’m definitely going to watch more When did you work? Like, do you have a job to pay for (example) the gym membership or the diet. Great job man!
this routine definetely is not a fit for a father of three kids working from home, but I have some ideas on how I can adapt these principles and bring some more discipline into my day
Ben which are the 2-3 best books to read for starting as an online entrepreneur or freelancing from scratch in engineering design industry or in general to become a successful online service based entrepreneur ?
Hey Mohib. I don't have as much knowledge in books about freelancing specifically, but here's what I'd say: 1. The Four Hour Workweek is essential for any entrepreneur, especially if you're considering working remotely. 2. Deep Work by Cal Newport will help you be able to focus for long periods to get your work done/learn whatever skills you need. 3. 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing would be really good to learn how to market yourself/your skills. This will be more important long term than short term.
Im a new follower, really like your content. I didnt even know this Lex guy until now so Im gonna go check him out too but he seems pretty awesome too from what you covered.
Excellent Thank you...as you have hopefully discovered adding a bit a day to a new change overtime will prevent soreness. There is wisdom in making small doable improvements daily. When I did pushups I added one a day till eventually I broke the record at the Dojo. Hard work is translated as consistent effort over time. I've completed 2 bucket lists by being focused like a laser beam. From the book Superself by Charles J. Givens. Doubling your personal effectiveness. Earning a Black Belt to Skydiving.
I love Lex Fridmans podcast and what he does but his routine is alien to most people because most people have 9-5 jobs, families and the usual other stuff that goes along with it. If you're one of these average people (myself included, and prob 99% of others) then comparing yourself to his routine is just depressing. Also you need to ask what 'deep work' am I doing? Lex works on robotic AI, what deep work were you even doing during this test? Were you doing robotic AI? All I'm saying is not all work requires two sets of 4 hours 'deep work', unless you're doing something as fore-front as robotics AI. What's the point of my comment? I don't know, I just hope people look at this with a grounded perspective.
I originally had a part in the video addressing this but took it out (so I very much appreciate your comment addressing it). What it said was that many people might be thinking it's impossible to follow Lex's routine for the reasons you mentioned, but that it could be adapted to fit other lifestyles. For example, the deep work would likely be replaced by a 9-5 job, and the other elements like reading and exercise could be shortened to make more time for kids, family, etc, although you still have to do them at least a little bit every day. But yes, I wouldn't recommend comparing yourself to Lex because he is much more hardworking than almost everyone else, but hopefully people can adopt certain pieces of his routine that would be helpful. To your question about what I was doing, it was mainly editing/planning for this video (which took a lot of time) as well as some other skills I'm trying to develop (like language, health and fitness research, etc).
Lex's had more structure because he walks through it in a lot more detail than Jordan does, which I liked. Overall I'd have to say Lex's because of the variety contained within it (e.g. workout, running, reading, guitar practice) while still helping you be extremely productive.
Do you read theses that are strictly aligned to your career or any thesis you find interesting also how do you become a great reader and much better extracter of the information?
These are fun and informative podcasts, but I think you are missing a point about Lex. He is a world class athlete. He didn't start the routine that he now uses by getting up one morning and doing it. So trying to replicate the routine he has built over decades is not realistic. You make some modifications - turning Lex's six mile runs into two, for example - but a key part of what makes a routine like that work is consistency, and there is no way to achieve that in a week.
He's not a research professor at MIT stop with the misinformation. He's a research scientist, he's not even paid. May sound similar but a HUGE difference.

It's very interesting to see you test the routines of great people! Your videos are very well made!
I was going to say the same, very good quality to subscriber ratio
13:37, man this hits home. Many of my lifting PRs were set on days on which I didn't wanna workout at all, but showed up to the gym anyway.
I am so impressed with this. Love to see people doing these for a week. Andrew Huberman and Lex would totally exhaust me in the first hour....by I am wayyyyyyy old. Good for you. Great job
Found this guy on TikTok, and he is crushing here on TH-cam even more. Engaged me till the end! Great vid 💥
Thanks man, glad to have you hear.

That first week improvement on the nickel and dime workout was probably your mind muscle connection there.
I really, really enjoyed this video. I feel so inspired. Thank you so much and keep up the hard work. You’re really making a difference!
One of the things I never see is there is no cleaning or cooking or washing or any chores. Do people not do any of those?
Hey, you're making great content! Keep it going, I'm very sure that you will one day get everything you want, I can see it in you

i love that Lex has a scheduled time for a random adventure to happen lol
Thank you for making these. They have been great motivator for me!
Man’s deserves 1m+ subscribers
Excellent video dude, it was greatly entraining and insightful, which are probably the best characteristics a video in this topic can have.
I like your videos keep it up. I see your Chanel blowing up.
Again, great video. Keep on going!
Appreciate it man
this is a really well put video and I'm sure you'll make it big someday

Lex is quite literally the worst interviewer on the internet. That’s why we watch him 😂
no that is not true
How did it compare to Jordon Peterson’s routine? Which one do you like more?

You are going to get free Mars tour soon brother don't worry.
I thought i won't like this, but i do. Also checked the original video of Lex. Very inspiring and I learned quite a few tricks
Well done. So.. he is a MIT prof as a side hustle 😏
Haha basically

what work are you doing?
In this case it was a ton of editing, some schoolwork, and a decent amount of learning new skills I'm trying to work on.

"He's a research professor'' Professor at the age of 39?

Wait. Why did they do surgery on a grape?
Try out elon musk routine too
Strongly considering it. That guys an alien though. It's basically work non-stop
