And this can apply to bad heterosexual relationships as well. I thought I really loved someone, but it was a sinful relationship for years and I finally said God I give this to you and I am walking away no matter how much it hurts because my heart yearns for you more, went to confession, and I had straight up miracles start happening in my life.

Our culture has made sex itself into such an idol that any mention of self control or temperance in that area is seen as taboo.

    • @zacbrown2357
      @zacbrown2357 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

It has which honestly I find insulting. It is also essentially dehumanizing while at the same time it illogically coexists with rigorous demands. Apparently I am expected to know chattel slavery is an impermissible evil and fight against it were I born in 1780. To defy Hitler were I born then. In my previous job to hold up if captured by the enemy and to follow orders even if they mean I would probably get shot. But I am somehow also so weak and helpless that I cannot control my sexual desires the cognitive dissidence is staggering. My desire to not taste pain or death is more central than my desire for sex. The Catholic idea of what sex is at least comes close enough to the object of our desires that it can seem like it's not an idol but the fulfillment of what we actually desire. The secular view seems to be like saying a bit of cheese cake makes me happy therefore eating cheese cake all the time and thinking about it when I am not will fulfill me. While I cause a lot of pain an suffering to people I should care most about seems so low. That at least half a dozen other things would make more accurate false idols. Wining a woman over if she is looking for a good husband and father and can discern character well is an achievement that shows some virtue. Getting a woman in bed who goes home with many different guys often is such a low thing and does little to nothing to show one has virtue.

anyways I've done 30 yrs of research on this
there's so much evidence leading to what I feel
      is the truth
but I'll give you a basic insight
Your consciousness is itself the creator, so where is the creation when you and your consciousness can manifest the universe or multiverse?
Enlightenment is an evolved state, the idea of creation (let us) exhalted superiority, (thou shall have no other gods before me)
Immortality is based on possessing the tree of life,
Death only exists because the cure has been withheld from us,
our evolving has been hijacked through the process of being reset through death.
God is eternal within. People don't realize, that even our DNA is encoded with the word god in it.
God isn't a religion, God is an energy.
      A frequency, a harmonic resonance.
That can actually be backed by science.
In the beginning there was the word, and word was SOUND! Sound = energy, light = vibration. This is why sound can heal.
      Christ consciousness.
      THE CR-IST.
God is omni present, meaning its energy is in everything.
      Made with divine design.
      Phi- the golden ratio.
Sacred geometry and even our food shows sacred geometry when you look at it close enough.
Everything has an aura and a field of energy that it produces.
This is why when people ask me if I believe in god, I tell them of course, but I'm not religious.
To not believe in god would be ridiculous, however, YOU are creator.
And your prayers manifest your intent.
With again... a field of energy, you can't see it, but you hold it close to your heart, and when you pray, with others it multiplies that field of energy, it expands and becomes greater.
Those men of old.. the men of renown the gods and demi gods of ancient times also said behold you are now one of us, (plural) meaning there were many gods at the time, as well as THESE THINGS YOU SHALL DO AND GREATER THAN I.
      I AM THAT..... I AM.
Meaning you are a part of everything. And everyone.
The entire universe, and all that is connected to it.
And if you're smart, you'll never be a sheep, avoid indoctrination and learn to think for yourself connect with your higher self, (zero point energy) through meditation.
And learn to activate your pineal gland and stop drinking fluoride.
Which calcifies the pineal and renders it inactive. :) Because YOU are god eternal within.
      btw
I've asked "him" to show himself

First I want to say that I am so happy that she has given herself completely to God and is walking on her path. I, however, completely disagree with both their views of homosexuality. If you are willing to read why, I will give my reasons point by point and some of my testimony as well:
    1) Being raised in a Catholic family and going to a Catholic school doesnt mean you are a practicing Catholic or understand its theology, but simply raised to know its existence. I was raised evangelical, but came home to the Church at 18. I went to public school all my life, so yes you can claim a secular environment, but it neither creates or destroys attractions to the same gender.
    2) It would seem that your issue isnt homosexuality, but loneliness and a feeling of emptiness. As you said, that you used people (no judgement), but what does this have to do with homosexuality? Straight and Gay people have this problem, you just happen to be gay and unfairly tie it to that.
    3) I can totally understand the feeling of it "not feeling right", it is natural when growing up (anytime before the 00's) that being gay was used as a slur, constantly judged as something horrible, and very few positive role models to look up to. It also didnt "feel right" to be looking into Catholicism when I was raised to believe that it was evil and all the other crazy junk. I went against my family, my evangelical friends, and how I was raised to follow what I found to be true. It took me studying, praying, patience, and time to learn the truth of the matter. Feelings are not a justification of truth.
    4) Can you please tell more about the struggles the women went through while dating you? I understand this man is very loving and kind, but were the women you dated not? Are they still gay? What are their views and feelings of homosexuality? These are important questions to ask if looking for the full picture. I am sure their hearts were broken too with you not being open about who you are, keeping them as a secret, etc.
    5) What you did in Ethiopia is amazing and so glad you used your talents to help them out!!!
    6) I am sure those who suffer loneliness and emptiness all can fall to the temptation of making our significant other an idol, be them straight or gay.
    7) Living a double life is miserable, and a reason I am so glad to see the Church work with telling lgbt people to come out of the closet and be honest, so no one can get hurt.
    8) While you were dating women, did you still practice the faith, work on your relationship with God?
    9) I really have to say this to people, drinking and partying a lot is NOT a gay "lifestyle" its done by both gay and straight people, because they are broken and empty on the inside and using it to fill them up. Hence the using of people, dating multiple people without work and commitment.
    10) God does work miracles through pain, and so glad He brought you to surrender everything to Him! He is the only one who can fulfill our needs and provide that wholeness. Knowing our place in creation is the best way to find peace and joy.
    11) I agree also that we have to work on our temptation so that we dont cause harm to others or ourselves. This is great advice.
I wrote this as someone who loves God, I love the Church (though I disagree with her on some points), and I am affirming of my homosexuality. No it doesnt define me, but it is important. It signals who I have ROMANTIC attractions and feelings for, its someone that I want to walk my life with and work to become a Saint (if God does bring him into my life), and it allows me to relate to other people. Yes I do know and studied theology of the body and I disagree, yes I know the science of sex (I also know there are still things we cant explain), yes I know part of sex is procreation (but that is not its only function, we are not breeding machines). What I want to say is that people like me, Catholic and Gay (affirming), want to be heard. Stop assuming we are ignorant, stop assuming that we dont love God, stop assuming anything about us (it means you are the ones who put us into boxes, we dont do it to ourselves). I think Kim is an amazing woman who is still figuring things out, but I will pray simply that God leads her according to His will.
I also want to say to someone who is gay and still loves God, pray. Pray that He brings you to loving and affirming Catholics (we have many groups who will love you as you are, and push you to be a saint!). God answered my prayers and I found people like this, I have joy and peace with things, even when the world and some people in the Church hate me. I and you are Imago Dei, you are still beautiful, you are still loved by God, and there is nothing wrong with you.
Peace and Blessings to you all.

People have desires and struggles and someone like her at some point realized deep down she wasn’t fully giving herself over to God. Jesus I trust in you. Just a thought. If you don’t feel that deep down than that is ok too. But sometimes life forces you to step back and listen to what God is saying.

Substitute the word "rape" for sexual orientation" and see how foolish your statement is. All choices concerning sex outside God's covenant marriage relationship between one man and one woman for life are immoral choices. The only moral choice is to follow God's design for life. And FYI-we are naturally sexually orientated by God in the womb and it doesn't change unless you make immoral choices. To tell someone that homosexuality is "normal" is to hate homosexuals. You are either covering up your own immorality or hate other human beings so much that you want them to suffer in their sins. Repent of this hatred.

As long as you are tolerant of others who think differently than you, we don’t have a problem. Now, if you think you can force you beliefs on others in America, well, that’s just not how a free country operates. It just isn’t. In the end, either keep your religion to yourself, or leave the country for somewhere that does not tolerate other religions. Saudi’s Arabia’s comes to mind. Or Afghanistan. Bu-bye!

The more we are away from God the more perverted we become, in our ways, in our thoughts. To the point that we think we are 'normal' while we are not. But on the other hand, it seems like a lot of her pain wasn’t stemmed from her sexuality but more from abuse and poor decision making (i.e drinking and partying a lot). But it seems like she’s trying to make a blanket statement that it’s all just her sexuality.
I’m a man who deeply loves and cherishes Jesus. I truly only want to do what the Lord calls me to do in my life. I will be the first one to tell you that a lot of the LGBT community is hurting and broken and needs healing/Jesus.
But I struggle in the aspect of completely denying your sexuality. In some aspects I would agree. Being promiscuous is sinful and hazardous to your health. But I struggle when I see friends in loving, Christ-centered, monogamous relationships.
Christ says that you will know them by their fruit right? So when I look at people who have been denying their sexuality and have gone through reparative therapy, the data shows that these things lead to increased depression and the suicide attempts are through the roof. Those are bad fruits. Bad fruits= Bad theology.
Meanwhile a loving, Christ-centered, monogamous relationship= love, respect, faith. Good fruit.
I’m sincerely not trying to make excuses for behavior but I am earnestly seeking God in this matter. There are passages regarding this issue in the Bible but we don’t know the context of those passages. The Bible was used to endorse slavery but we changed our interpretation of those passages.
And I’m saying this as someone who is celibate.

I agree with you. I think some people really feel the need to adapt to the Bible’s sayings. Being raised in a very religious environment can obviously lead to It. Otherwise, it can have consequences in family, friends and other community relationships.
Seeing homosexuality as only sin, only depravation and evil is an overgeneralization with its roots in that religious environment too. There are a lot of people who dont follow that and dont agree with it being wrong. There isnt only one right religion, there isnt only one true belief. So, the thing is understanding truly who we are and finding a set of rules that we really believe and that dont hurt us, but help us to be our best versions. And oftenly it isnt the one that we were born into.

    • @anaa9245
      @anaa9245 ปีที่แล้ว

I just don’t see how homosexuality is a sin if it’s not a choice. And why prevent yourself from loving someone of the same sex if you’re both attracted to one another. I don’t see how that is sinful if it is love. ❤

But if you're watching this video searching for help, some kind of cure, or healing: I will just say that you are okay as you are, you do not need to run away from yourself for God. You need to find a place where you can love yourself and if you love yourself, you will find a partner who respects and loves you so much that they would never break the trust you will give them. i know i'm late to the party so i don't know if any of you will see this, but i have a couple questions/critiques. first, i'm not invalidating or minimizing your experience but when you say you didn't necessarily think it was a sexual attraction in the beginning, i think that can be a disconnect for some people because there are people for whom it has always had that element. this leads into my next question. i understand not all desires, even natural desires, are good. in the case of homosexuality, i agree for the most part but do have some questions. but for the intents and purposes of this discussion, let's assume that it's "bad." i think one shortcoming of all these videos, talks, and the church's discussion of homosexuality is that we focus a lot on the theology behind why it's bad, why we shouldn't let it be our identity, and what we should do to avoid it. None of that's bad, but i find a real lack of discussion about how we can live full lives once we move away from that sin. sure, people always say your identity is in christ, make jesus the center of your life, engage with your community etc. but oftentimes, that's as far as it goes. there's no elaboration and while you can find individual examples here and there, it's hard to find real inspirational stories and role models, if that makes sense. and what of the people who lack any real richness in their lives not for lack of trying? for example, if someone doesn't have family, friends, community, etc? They may try to build community, make friends, serve others, but they still can't manage to build any meaningful relationships. Or someone who out of financial necessity works most of their waking hours and can't for afford to engage in any "enriching" activities that contribute to a "full" life? of course this may not be the majority, but i think if we are to speak about these issues, these are the people we really need to reach because without the proper support, the chance that they'll be able to sustain a faithful life is much slimmer. we can't live without love so if we can't find it in the church, where do you think we'll look for it?

Andrew Rodriguez A straight person might also have the same issues such as going from somebody to other, having multiple partners. What I wanted to say is that the symptoms given in the video is not necessarily the results of homosexual acts. Whenever I see a video I am hoping to find a little reasoning rather than ‘a testimony’ or ‘being bold’. Watching the videos of children who have gay parents, reading catechism, philosophy, and psychology to understand why this is the way God chose for us. I am looking for a simple formula that will combine today’s healthy practices and God’s way. There is not enough source that tells us that. For example, when I read Cognitive Therapy Techniques I can see the Catholicism there. It was there 2000 years ago, the healthy facts discovered in 1960s. So I am looking for the same thing for the same sex marriages. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to figure it out yet.

Verity Farseer have you been diagnosed with OCD by a professional? and what do you mean specifically, by you having other forms in the past?
It could very well be part of the OCD if it brings you severe anxiety.
I am not a doctor and don’t pretend to be. But I will say I have been diagnosed with OCD and KNOW that my homosexual desires are linked to my OCD. However for a very long time I didn’t know it was OCD and I know if I would have told someone else (say someone who was gay) the things I was feeling they probably would have told me I was gay. it just seemed as if I was a woman attracted to women and that I was afraid to admit it. But the reality is, and the difference between being someone who is actually gay is when I finally accepted myself and said “you know what maybe I’m gay and that’s okay” All my homosexual desires went away relatively quickly. The OCD knew that wasn’t a trigger anymore and moved to other things.

If you don’t want to acknowledge your instinctive sexuality anymore or believe you can switch that instinct off, fair enough, but don’t blame being homosexual or bisexual on the mistakes that have happened in your life. Homosexuality is NOT a sin and for the Catholic Church to suggest it is, that is pure discrimination and against human rights to preach this. There are millions of happy and healthy same sex relationships in the world; and with supportive families. Jesus would not discriminate against love, it’s the people who run these organised religions which do that and it’s time they stopped judging people with the Old Testament, a book written by people living in a very different time. Wake up. Don’t judge or denounce consenting adults on their sexual preference, just accept 🙏

I’m glad you have found happiness and fulfillment in your life. However, this is a reminder to anyone reading this to be considerate. Don’t tell LGBT+ people or anyone experiencing SSA what their attractions mean, what they should do, or who they should date. Don’t tell them they need to be saved or fixed or that their attraction isn’t real. While some people may have a story like the one told in this video, so many others can find peace in their identity and live happy lives in same-sex relationships, and many do so as Christians. It is possible. And, even if someone decides not to follow their SSA, that is their own decision, and their own conclusion to come to on their own. Respect others. Respect their decisions. Respect the process. Thank you.

Daniel Orozco we all have disordered desires, and all sexual sin and not used in its proper context is where it becomes sinful. This is a cross she is bearing. We all have a cross we have to carry and this is hers and she knows this and like she says, you can’t have a resurrection without a cross. We will all face challenges with certain temptations but without grace and the help of God we will never mortify our flesh. Sex outside of marriage and pornography etc are all grave sexual sins that we all have inclinations towards because of our fallen nature’s, but with God we can make it.

    • @danielorozco1728

@@creedy8612 thanks for your response, and just to have a little bit of context, how old are you and are you married? May I ask if you don't mind. And I just want to clarify this if I can, at least how I understand how it works. Being heterosexual binging and going beyond what's moral and/or ethical it's obviously wrong, like promoting prostitution and so on, but how wrong could it be for a homosexual feeling desire for the same sex, perhaps having sex with them without harming anyone, how's this wrong? I'm an heterosexual man and never ever have had any sort of attraction towards other men, so I cannot tell how is it like, but I feel some desire especially in homosexual people is purely natural, which I feel doesn't offends God.
      What's your point of view?

    • @creedy8612
      @creedy8612 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Daniel Orozco yes I’m married and in my 30’s. We all have an inclination towards certain sins, especially sexual ones, it’s our fallen human nature unfortunately. Even heterosexual relations outside of marriage are mortally sinful and disordered affections because they are not in their proper context of what God intended sex to be used for. As for homosexual inclinations, some people suffer with an attraction to the same sex and that could be for a lot of different reasons. But to say that it is who we are as our identity is false. Our identity is in God because we were made in His image and likeness. We didn’t make ourselves. To have an attraction to a sin isn’t wrong, but to act on the sin is. A sin always has a root. Having homosexual relations of any kind is harming, because you are harming the other persons soul. It is a spiritual wound. You’re using that other person selfishly for pleasure and in an unnatural act. Heterosexual sex is not unnatural because it was intended for procreation to bring forth life, but it’s still harmful spiritually to the other person if done outside of marriage. Hope this helps.
