Legler hit the nail on the head with JB winning the ECF MVP being the best thing that could happen. To take it a step further:
    1) It gives JB added confidence. He was confident before, but now he's ultra-confident.
    2) It also puts JT on notice competitively. People aren’t just going to give you an MVP; you have to take it to another level.
    3) It also brings the team closer together, let's call it what it is, JT is usually the one getting those accolades. Seeing JB get it after being the emotional leader on both ends of the floor is a breath of fresh air, and we all know it's well-deserved.

Crazy to think that at only 26 years old, Bill Walton was already a MVP, champion and FMVP (and also would’ve won DPOY if it was awarded back then)! Most likely, he wasn’t even at his best yet! And as a shell of his former self (due to injuries), at 33 still won 6th Man of the Year while helping one of the GOAT teams win a title!
Ofc, he’s one of the very best college players ever, and also one of the best commentators for that matter!
    RIP

I feel like Boston’s ability to switch and Dallas not having anyone they can really pick on (if KP plays) is going to be tougher on Dallas than the Wolves #1 Defense has been so far. It’s going to be a good series and I think Boston has it on 6. I’d rather see 5 so they can finish it on their home court but that’s asking a lil to much even tho it is possible.

    • @josephrafferty6763
      @josephrafferty6763 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Dallas will pick on whoever they have at Center. Boston has actually been the worst pick and roll defense in these playoffs, largely because everyone is attacking the center position in pick and roll. KP is worse in space than Horford is.
That said, they'll likely have to hit a lot of pull up jumpers against drop coverage to have a real chance. They have the roster to do that, but it's still not an easy way to win games consistently against a good team.

Some differences for this Celtics vs 2022, other than those talked about:
    1) Tatum and Brown would complain/whine/bitch about non-calls when they drove to the basket in 2022. A LOT. And as a result, they would lose transition points on 5 on 4 or 3 on 2. Opposing teams' coaches all saw that in films, and would tell the team to "get up and running" when they whined. This year, they still complained but they are more matured and don't lose too much on those possessions
    2) They are more locked in and don't let a series extend unnecessarily. Game 5 2022 up late in the game, 2 guys ran into each other for a rebound off of a free throw miss by Giannis, Bobby Porter grabbed it and put it in. Series extended to 7. Game 5 2023 against the Hawks at home up 3-1 with a chance to close out, Trae Young made a long 3, series extended to 6. Game 1 vs Sixer at home in 2023, Joel Embiid is out, James Harden dropped 45. Game 4 vs Sixers in 2023, up 2 late, gave up a corner 3 to Harden because Brown went to double Embiid. Series extended to 7.
The longer the series means more travel, more practices, more high intensity basketball minutes. Exhausting and draining, mentally and physically (just ask Anthony Edwards). This year, 4-1, 4-1, and 4-0 on the way to the Finals.
The 2 Jays are turning into matured MEN!

Nembhard has been one of "my guys" I'm high on for the longest time. I saw a little Brunson in him, with more defensive spice. And damn the man fought his way into the starting lineup of a Carlisle ran team next to a tall star point guard before flashing that he can myb run a team by himself... that comparison is looking better and better by the career arc huh

TERMINOLOGY: what’s the definition of a “star”?
For me, I define this by minutes/touches you are responsible for.
    - Star = Top 6 in mpg on your team, Top 3rd in Usage% in the league.
Not sure if Nemby will get that level of usage the way his team is configured, but he can easily be a:
    - plus starter= Top 6 mpg, Mid 3rd Usage%

What were the "couple" of high-profile collapses to "teams we didn't expect?" One. Last year. Seriously. What, a team led by a 23 year old was SUPPOSED TO beat the freakin' Warriors? No. They were a year early, and they did then what the Wolves and Pacers are doing now--that is completely normal. Otherwise, you're going back to 2019, and I'm sorry that wasn't THIS team. The fact JT and JB were on that team is almost by-the-way.

LMAO the "the champs have beaten the Suns on Christmas" stat went right over their head. MAvs winning the west and then a chip would be 3 years in a row that happened, and if Mavs just make it to the finals it's 3 years the winner of the west beat the Suns on Christmas bare minimum.

What that guy said at the 38 min mark about the conference mvps is exactly why the media robbed Tatum of the conference mvp when he was clearly the best player they gave Jaylen a narrative award so they can say “was Tatum the best player on his team” when you’re dead ass a casual if you think they are even close if Jaylen got guarded like Tatum…..lmao. No other player besides Jokic and Giannis will have a better resume in this league since he’s been in the league a after he wins the title top 3 undisputed player in the league
