Whenever I listen to Fela, I always discover an instrument I didn't hear and I follow it to the end. This guy was SENT here to lay the foundation of what we call Afrobeats today. God bless him

The instrumentation at the beginning and keyboard especially are reminiscent of a child playing around so freely, teasing and almost flying. I don't understand how he makes the instruments come alive in such a way that comprises, dignity, freedom, spontaneity, authenticity and happiness etc, just pure bliss 💝

God bless you guys for bringing memories to me expecially. it reminds me of my youth when we use to go to Fela in Rabiatu Thompson in Surulere for sunday jump. Fela use to come late to shrine as a result of traffic at Ojuelegba. Fela wrote this music to justify the traffic condition in the area and in Lagos in general.

Goddamn funky, thick, percussive african soul composition by the master exponent of afrobeat. The extraordinary rhythm section effusively anchored by the bass player, drummer the deceased great Tony Allen, and of course the exceptionally talented guitarist, controls your restless feet. Fela himself rounds this up on Alto Sax 🎷 and electric piano. All you need do is shake. That's all👍👏
