It'll be a great fit. I only wish they could have added a switch track for loading. Despite this being their first family coaster, Holiday World is fundamentally a family park so this thing is going to get very long lines.
I got to ride pilgrims plunge one time in 2010 and it was insane! A literal elevator brought the boat from the water up to the drop and you felt like it was going to break, been staring at this baron space for over a decade...they used the spot for Halloween Weekends and the rest of the year it was used as a smoking area so I am glad to see a permanent ride fill in the gap! I personally think the ride looks awesome and the area around looks really fun! Can't wait to munch on a thanksgiving meal at Pilgrims Cafe and then ride Good Gravy!!!
I am glad to see that they're finally getting a replacement for Pilgrims Plunge, but did it really have to take them an entire decade to come up with this?
@@moekitsune I feel like they could have gone with what Tripsdrill or Emerald Park (formerly Tayto Park) did and got the STC Family Boomerang package and catered to both sides. Giving thrill-seekers a big thrill ride while also adding a family coaster as well, this would have probably not made it so underwhelming. Sure it would have likely resulted in a Thunderbird sized gap between coasters, but given that two coasters would be added instead of just one it would be made up for with that.
@AceAviations2 yeah. Theres also the ammount of space. Its a miniscule coaster taking up one of few areas for actual expansion. Its ultimately positive except that its such an underwhelming ride I think it will not be a net bennefit to even advertise it
These Vekoma boomerangs are really good as rides for the younger ones. But I can’t stop thinking these rides need a lifthill on the spike before going backwards. The return to the station always feel a little sluggish.
Seriously dissapointing. Especially after the leak. Thought it might have some water elements or an interesting layout at least. What a waste of a good coaster station.
Kind of disappointed that they didn't get one of those STC/Family Boomerang bundles like Tripsdrill and Emerald Park have, this would have catered to both families and thrill-seekers at the same time with some awesome interactions. Don't get me wrong, this is still a good addition to the park, but it could have been more than just a family coaster like we've seen with other parks.
I know I'm in the minority here but , yeah i know "family coaster" so build me a "mine train" type of coaster. Great announcement but color me unenthused about the ride itself.
Not alone. This is a terrible waste of money. I am genuinely befuddled as to who thinks this is a good idea. 37 mph max speed? This thing crawls at like 10mph through its course. Kids will have more fun on howler. This isnt a family coaster its a baby coaster
@moekitsune7651 You're acting like I didn't ride howler as a kid or wasn't at this park when Raven was its only coaster. This is just a waste of money. It's ten million dollars at a regional park. I honestly think unique flat rides or even a new holiday land like valentines or easter that certainly dont lend themselves to thrill rides. Even investment in shows might have made more sense had they simply built a coaster of any kind in ten years. Their guests wanted a new coaster. They got the most boring iteration of their wish.
You do realize Big Bear Mountain costed over 30 million dollars right? Holiday World is a family owned park in the middle of nowhere and doesn't get near the attendance and revenue Dollywood gets. From what I understand, Thunderbird (22million) was a bit of a struggle to pay off so I doubt we see HW invest over 15 million dollars on a coaster again.
they don’t need any more wooden coasters the raven voyage and ledgers are already great wooden coasters and they have enough wooden ones They needed a ride that wasn’t very intense like this one but still one for the family
@@TFZack this is one of the worst family coasters I have ever seen lol could have done way better especially for fans that have waited 10 years for a new ride. I get they need a family coasters so do something like fire chaser, or Kentucky flyer . Those are true family coasters there fun and not intense if you’re not 5 years old you will not find this attraction fun . But oh well maybe in another 10 years they will announce a ride that is actually good
Yeah, this won’t get me to go back to the park anytime soon. I’d rather get my skull bashed in by The Boss at Six Flags Saint Louis than drive 4 hours to ride this thing.
The marketing is great. The ride is crap. I can see why this is the only one in America. This pov was glacial. This is a zero thrill ride. Its just a tall baby coaster not a family coaster.
@@Themeparkfan630true bro, they want it to be a thrill park when if we want those big rides we’re gonna need these rides to build that money up and drive in tickets + season passes for the next coaster
You know.. they remove a family favorite. A cool down outside the water park.. to add this!? Not even to mention. Thunderbird to this!? Cmon Holiday world. Step up your game a bit
I agree 100%!! They also got rid of Ranging Rapids and thought THIS was a good idea as a replacement?? The ride just looks lame, I'm sorry😅 Why couldn't they build a ride similar to Ranging Rapids and make it Thanksgiving/Pilgrim- themed?? That's just my two cents... It's just sad to see a ride I basically grew up with as a child gone and replacing it with something so incredibly lame.
why is it so short of a ride. Me and my cousins like it long, and cume down to holiday world every year expecting a new ride and this is what i get. ive waited so longgggg for a new ride and its only lasts 15 seconds. Im going to go cry in the bathroom now. This ride is a disgrace.
That would be impossible since the Christmas section of the park is so small. There isn't much room to add anything new there unless they replace an existing ride. This is located in the Thanksgiving section; which has tons of space for new expansions to the park. Yes, the theming is silly, corny, and a bit outlandish; but that's just the brand of charm that Holiday World is known for 😁.
Not true at all. We rode this last week and it's way more intense than it looks. My daughter was scared to death and she rides much bigger looking coasters. You have to ride it instead of watching a video

Honestly this is a perfect fit for the park. They don't have anything between Howler and Raven.
In an age where big parks theme coasters to IP’s, Holiday World… themes to gravy.
In their defense, kings dominon themed two of their coasters to apples and Hersheypark named two of their coasters to candy

Yet another reason why Holiday World is incredible.
Considering it's in the Thanksgiving section, it's perfectly appropriate, especially for a starter coaster.😊
