Always fascinating to watch you make something but even more so when I have an example of the finished item sitting in front of me! The drill bit extension was a great idea, I was wondering how you were going to do those holes. Cheers, Alan.

Fascinating build from cutting the pattern to completed project. I have to admit that I am surprised that you don't add lettering such as MFB, MyFord Boy, on these castings.

    • @myfordboy

It does have MFB on the frame. th-cam.com/video/x_0Nc0nKc3M/w-d-xo.html

I like the idea of the magnets on the wood to keep the man in place,
What did you use for the bade.
as many years ago on a smaller saw I bought I used a braided wire that could cut balsa wood.
Also nice of you to show how to make a simple drill extension,
I do go mad when my extra long drill bits are miss placed , to many hiding places in a home hobby shop.
Anyway i think it is very handy to have a selection of extra long drill bits.

I would have liked a blade that actualy cuts. Mine is made from 2 thin strips of duct tape stuck back to back.

Laser cuts at an angle, never vertical. with correct offsets you can have a pretty decent draft angle when sandwiching layers. You can even play with focus/distance/settings and see which gives you better draft angle.

No good .it misses one crucial part ! A small cast finger next to a bandsaw ! Remember -finger doesnt fall far from the saw!

Hi, hope you're well, question, what paint did you use to paint the casting? I've tried to paint zamak castings with no success

    • @myfordboy

I use an enamel paint by pheonix precision paints, thinned with fast drying thinners and applied with an airbrush. I don't use any primer or undercoat.

Thanks for the video. Could you tell the capacity of that furnace for low melting alloys? The specs would suggest about 200ml but your casting looks much bigger than that. Thanks.

    • @myfordboy
      @myfordboy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

The crucible is 50 dia and 150mm tall so I make the capacity nearly 300ml.

At first the 3Dprinted part threw me off. But it is the table that does not fit at all at the end, and those large screws. Table would be so much better if cast and then surfaced. screws could be blind heads with bolts from the underside.

@@myfordboy It's getting horrible how the software companies are trying to claw every dollar from end users. Removing features so you can pay more is a bait and switch type of trick. they hooked you and now want you to pay for something you had.
