    MY PROFILE:
    I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn't have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. I have now fallen in love with making videos about fishing and delivering it to you. Follow along the journey...it should be an honest and fun ride!

    Some of the best advice I ever received from a boater was...do you have a fluke tied on...yes...throw it out there in open water you will catch fish...caught 3 fish that day...used the same advice the next day and limited out and made a decent check.

    When I was a co-angler I always asked what I could do and not do with the angler. I always considered the boater first. I had some that would let me do anything and others who set strict limits. Now as a boater myself, I have to catch my limit, but I try my best to keep my Co on fish as well. As long as he doesn’t cast into the area I’m fishing I’m good. Never cross my line. I also talk to my Co and if he is a local I listen to what he has to say. He may know more about the lake than I do. I work with my Co and it’s worked out great for me also.

    I did this same thing 2 years ago at loz during the MO bass state tournament and did really well the first day, second day just didn’t go the same way although I did the same thing. I was using a different bait but the same concept. This works. I plan to do the same thing on table rock in three weeks

    That’s a similar approach to how I’ve been saying co anglers should fish . Nice to see some validation ! Top water and swimbaits should be on co anglers rods

    Even for cos “stuck” with a guy livescoping out in 40 feet. On so many lakes if you bomb a little ball head with a paddle tail and keep it going all day you will eventually catch some. I feel like so many co anglers get hung up on not being able to fish exactly like the boater, they forget about the 90% of water the boater isn’t covering.

    Lintner did the obvious. But hell the obvious is very hard to see sometimes. Isolated cover is very high percentage but always seems so obvious you think it can't work.

    I'd like to hear you're CC's on Table Rock and Truman! I agree with a C-Rig on Toledo Bend, but I'll add a jig on stumps to that as well for Toledo.... I've fished the Co side a lot over the years, and rarely does a boater suggest anything while I'm fishing from the back deck of their boat. I like to help the Co's when fishing as a Boater, and doing so, helped several of them cash checks. I believe it's the way it needs to be.

    Don’t fish coangler - my only advice, fished it and now regret didn’t to fish from the front earlier. All these unofficial rules in favor of a boater, they don’t want to go back and save lures (expensive ones) and many other things…

    Your cheat code is what makes good team anglers . Fish different water with different techniques unless one of you get on something special.

    Todd I absolutely love all the co angler stuff you put out there, we can get a tough boater sometimes but it’s all about the mindset. You’ve always got good info!

    Ffs has definitely shown me that there are ALOT of fish following the pros lure and then hanging under the boat. Seems like this could be exploited to a co anglers benefit.

    What's the co angler cheat code at Rayburn?

  • @mikeharris130
    @mikeharris130 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    IMO, the best spotted bass bait is a Yamamoto skirted grub on a simple jig head. I've done it many times on the Coosa River. This only applies to being on the bank or around docks.

      Different lake, different fish. Thats the thing all these lakes are different and fish act different. Thats why I said it was so important to know the lake you are fishing and the cheat code for that lake.

      @@toddcastledinefishing5924 Thanks for the response. Agree. Coosa River spots do love a Yamamoto skirted grub though.

    I fished as a co and tried to stay with Keitecs, drop shots, wacky, etc. Practice was so misleading because I caught them on top and then flipping. Catching a keeper during the derby was super tough. I dont know how many shorts my boaters and I had. I had really good draws. Its crazy how the niangua or osage may turn on better than the glaize, dam, etc. Maybe I should have kept that minnow in my hand all day.

      @toddcastledinefishing5924  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You can tell the people who fished this event or know
      LOZ because they all understand how many shorts were being caught and how the different areas played out

    The spotted bass has got me at least my entry fee back on a few little tournaments... if I got 4 fish and 30 mins left in the day I'm going to find a brush pile and throwing a dropshot in it to fill my limit every time... LOL Great video as always keepem coming man!!!

    When I lived on Lake Lanier back in the late 80's and early 90's we caught our spots on jig heads and zoom finesse worms. Pop R around the docks Then the Fish Head Spin was invented and that was the best bait to swim around docks and schoolers...Caught tons of spots also on humps with Hopkins spoons...By PB Spot on Lanier 7# 6oz ...I caught him on a 12" live rainbow trout and balloon while fishing for striped bass in late October...

    Do you have any co-angler tips for Wright Patman lake? I qualified for the regional BFL October 17-19 as a co-angler but I’ve never even heard of that place. Great video as always.

    I watched the whole Video and making sure I'm understanding this. The Cheat code to catch these small Spotted Bass is to throw something Small and that moves Fast? I dealt with this Yesterday on the Coosa struggling to get bit and slowed down with a Shakey head(0) Nothing. May should have speed things up..?

    Being that you’ve had many CO’s in your boat, you should do a co angler tips video. Suggesting the approach you would take and what you’ve seen.

    Fishing is known to be tough where I live. . Still you rarely do well if you don’t get a limit. If it’s an option . I always go for a limit . Even if they’re small.
