The biggest thing Love showed last year is without all star talent around him he could elevate the guys around him. The number 1 trait you want from a franchise qb
The first half of the season was up and down. But when Love essentially willed the win against New Orleans, that’s when I knew he had the heart, grit and leadership to be a franchise QB1. Once everyone started executing their role the second half of the season and LaFleur was comfortable opening up the playbook, Love was really able to elevate his play and those around him. Should have been in the NFC Championship. Can’t wait to see what they can do this season!
@@baseballsoffury642 He only had a rough 5 game stretch early. From weeks 9 on to the divisional round, he led the leauge in TD passes, yards and tied for the most wins. That's 12 weeks. That's hardly "half the season."
I'm a diehard packers fan. I agree with Sims. Jordan Love is fearless and and can make every throw off talent. But Love really needs to clean up his mechanics on short/intermediate throws. Even during his elite stretch, he was making screen passes and 3 yard outs, and quick slants look way more difficult than falling off his back foot and hitting some dude 30 yards down the field in tight coverage. It seems like every quick throw is just not completely accurate and he needs to clean that up
Sims basically rubbing it in on Dolphins fans that Brian Flores was right all along about Jordan Love being a better overall pro prospect than Tua & Herbert 😂
0:57 That's exactly right. I have no idea what MLF thinking giving him the basic menu of cool concepts that didn't really stress the defense. Love had a couple of stinky games (Raiders and Broncos 🥴) to start the year, but he was mostly fine contrary to popular belief.
@@isaiahmcconnell how is cj better? prove it.. the man played with rookies and 2nd year dudes on offense.. prove cj better...love played better in the playoffs also

@@isaiahmcconnellYou had in the first half but you changed things to fit your narrative. First of all, the Packers' O-line was one of the worst in the first half and the run block is still terrible to this day. Secondly, the Packers did not have a great run game either. Aaron Jones only had 6 good games out of the 13 he played and AJ Dillon, midway through the season was put on the trade block because he kept tripping on himself. JLove had the same amount of rushing TDs as Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon combined last season lol. As for the receiving options, CJ easily had a better time. Christian Watson was injured for most of the season and the rest of the receiving core was solid but are nowhere near the same threat as Tank Dell and Nico Collins. Also, in 2022, everyone was saying that the Packers were getting carried by ARod and Lafleur was probably going to get fired the next season. Now all of a sudden he's one of the best offensive coaches in the league. Not saying that you're entirely wrong, but when it comes to CJ or Jordan, it's up to personal preference. I'd argue that they're about the same level.
@isaiahmcconnell imagine saying love inherited a better team when aaron freaking rodgers couldn't get them to the playoffs... I still can't believe you stroud truthers are clinging to this hype after dude had one of the worst playoff games in nfl history 😂😂😂
I have a ton of respect for Chris’ opinion and I watch this show every year…but I literally can’t fathom Trevor over Love. Love has ALREADY played at a higher level than Trevor ever has. And it’s not even particularly close. Love should be 11.
I think this ranking has more to do with the small sample size. Love was great for half a season, but I think it's very optimistic to assume he's going to maintain that level of play indefinitely.
He still has to figure out the real deep ball. He probably can’t throw 60-70 yards comfortably. But if he ever does, Christian Watson becomes a superstar and this offense reaches new heights.
Seems right. Looked pretty bad through the 1st half of the season then finished well in the 2nd half. Kind of the same as Trevor Lawrence in 2022 with an elite half season and a playoff win. I buy into the Love hype more than TLaw, but still got to see consistency through an entire season and his decision making in the clutch improve. His close game splits (4th QTR, +/-7, Last 2 Min. Half) fell off a cliff from his regular production.
Its great bulletin board material..guy beats super bowl champs..1-2 plays away from beating the nfc champs, and he embarrassed detroit on thanksgiving..had a hiccup vs giants..struggled in those big moments to just take care of the footballl..he has so many more clubs in his bag.
JLove is my QB but I’m not mad he put him at 13, let him prove he can sustain this level of greatness a full season and he will be top 5 for a decade. He still needs to get better pre and post snap and gain experience which is scary, he can be even better.
Stroud, Love, Lawrence, Mayfield and Prescott being rated above Purdy is insane. Im a 49er fan, sure, but I also find it crazy that Simms will rank people high from 1 good year and will stand pat on Purdy who came off from a blown out elbow and nearly won the MVP. The disrespect is almost to the point where you think he's protecting his friend Kyle in a way.
