Hugh is spot on, it’s definitely not an anti-Mormon movie specifically. If anyone says it’s anti-mormon, they’re missing a possible point of the film. Perception is Reality. Your beliefs and your actions are within your control and we shouldn’t thoughtlessly/blindly give that away. Great movie!
Sister Paxton was my favorite & stole the show for me. She was genuinely bubbly & fun!🙏🥰🌟 Mr. Reed: "With great power, comes great responsibility." Sister Paxton: "Spider-Man!"😂
Why is it that both Hugh Grant and the girl on the left look uncomfortable and like they don’t want to be there? (Yes Hugh looks like that a lot, but even more so here)
Yeah, it does look like neither Sophie Thatcher or Hugh Grant are in the mood for that interview! They are all polite, and I miight be completely wrong here, but their body language does seem to be saying that they wish they were anywhere else!
There can be so many reasons for that. But regardless, actors do a LOT of interviews and promotion for a film. So if this is near the end of the promotion run, it's easy to feel fatigue from doing the same thing over and over again, answering many of the same questions and trying to sound exciting for the film in each interview.
These interviews are done via from many media press members , the cast sits there and gets interviewed over and over and over again by many different news outlets and press people asking the same questions , and sometimes uncomfortable questions get asked over and over. This topic is clearly a touchy topic cuz it concerns people's faith and you can get into trouble and bring bad press to a film if it comes across as being hateful to a religious group. I think those factors influence a lot of what you see has physical discomfort. Again , this style of interviewing is public relations method to promote the film. Nearly every big movie and the cast has to do these types of press interviews and like I said , they literally have to sit there for a long time and be interviewed by press members one after the other. So they get asked the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again for hours
I'm non active LDS. Been on a 2 year mission. Usually bashers bash us on the street rarely let us into the house. Those who let us in are usually well intended towards us. They let us chat s bit and give us food or drink before letting us go on our way. The name tag really set us apart announcing what, who we are. Eveyt night, our district leaders check on us see everything went well that day. But I can understand how these randoms run-ins can fantacize Hollywood for horror.
@2:40 this mistaken idea that Christianity has had many iterations is BS based on the thoroughly debunked and dreadfully poor scholarship of The God That Wasn't There by Brian Flemming.
@@SaxSpyit's a good movie. Art is supposed to make you feel uncomfortable. Also, yeah, Temple Garments are essentially magic underwear, you're deluding yourself if you think otherwise.
I'm a member, watched it. It's not for everyone but it was alright. Some things might have been uncanny valley or even disrespectful, but the bad guy is the atheist Richard Dawkins (reddit post level arguments)/ Ted Bundy and the heroines are brave missionaries, and doesn't present any conclusive argument.

Usually these press junkets are back-to-back interviews with many many media sources for hours. So it's very likely that they were all very tired.

I disagree They are very comfortable and enjoy all the interviews

Religion is about control. Sounds like a pretty broad comment about all religious instituitions.
Well, for those who wish to be in control.

You can say it's not anti, but the film paints the church in a negative way
Good.
@@LockeDemosthenes2 lies are good?
@@SaxSpy The Church has many negative aspects to it. If you don't see that, you're delusional.

interesting movie. Didnt expect how dark it became. Not bad.
The iterations thing is BS. Not historical or accurate

it is anti. "magic underwear" is yelled multiple times

Ironically, Ted Bundy actually converted to the LDS faith.
@LockeDemosthenes2 lol good catch, you can go to his cabin in utah, it's horrible
poor hugh has to put up with those two. yu could cut the unnecessary drama between these two like a thick cheese.
