Thank you! I have a Sawgrass that I have not used yet, but you give me great and easy details that I feel confident now to jump and use it.

I bought the epson specifically to use as a sublimation printer. I decided it wasn’t worth the trouble for something that “might” work once it’s converted. So I got the SG500 for sublimation and have loved it. Thank you so much for this video 🥰

Hey, I'm starting my own small business and was wondering how big can this print?

    • @Whtimiswhtugt
      @Whtimiswhtugt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@midollafun I’m not sure what printer “this” is referring to. The SG500 prints standard 8.5x11, with the optional bypass tray you can print 8.5x51. The Epson is a large format printer, you can print up to 11x17 with it

@@Whtimiswhtugt Thank you for answering I meant the sg500

@@midollafun you’re very welcome! If you can swing it, go for the SG1,000 it’ll print 11x17 and 13x51 with the bypass tray. Even if you don’t need that size now you may want to upgrade to it later, and then you will already have the equipment instead of having to buy another printer.

@whtimiswhtugt @ middolla Fun So I'm late to the party with this response but I totally agree with you- if you can afford a larger sublimation printer get it! I have the SG500 and while I love it, I would be lying if I said I didn't want the SG1000. Its nice to have the option for larger projects!

Thank you very much Lady Amy Creates. Wondeful, smart and straight forward review. I've never sublimated but would love to get into it.

Thank you Amy for the informative review. I wish I had started with your video 1st when researching sublimation printers. The info you provided took me a couple of days to glean on my own. I would like to know how the Seagrass 1000 compares to the Epson SureColor F570? It is my understanding that this Epson is built as a sublimation printer.

Hi Amy, I am not doing any of this yet, but if I was going to choose between the two, I would go with the SawGrass, especially because it includes Creative Studio. Being I don't currently own Adobe PhotoShop, or CorelDraw, and don't have a cue about graphic design, I think the SawGrass would be perfect. Also, there are now alternate replacement ink cartridges made by various manufacturers, whic cost a fraction of the amount of genuine SawGrass ink cartdridges. (Not sure if the alternate ink is good or not)

I love my Sawgrass and sublimation in general. If you ever get into sublimation I think you'll love it. Thanks for watching!

Ty for your video, since it’s only 5 months old you should know that epson has the f170 which is a sublimation printer that you do not have to convert. It’s very misleading your comments. I have both an epson f170 which I have had for over a year and a sawgrass 1000. Neither one have I had an issue with maintenance. I use my epson 90% of the time because of the cost of the ink.

How is the print quality? Has your epson ever have a week of not in use? I hear it gets clogged.

@@deniselindow4413 I have gone 3 weeks without printing and have never had any issue with my f170 now my reg epson printer that I use for regular prints is always having lines. And I have to complain about my sawgrass always disconnecting from the computer and I’m constantly reinstalling it.

Would love to see an epson f170 review vs. sawgrass. Also was wondering if you were gifted the sawgrass printer. I've been trying to decide and it seems every review I have seen were gifted a printer whether it would be sawgrass or epson. Looking for unbiased review. Thank you~

Nope- I definitely wasn’t gifted a sublimation printer. I have personally purchased both an epson and a sawgrass. I’ve never received compensation in any form from epson or sawgrass. My review is my opinion from my experience. Hope that helps! 😊

@@amycreates1075 Awesome ! Thank you so much! It definitely does! I was leaning toward the sawgrass but saw epson came out with the f170 and wasn't sure since the ink was so much less.

@@deniselindow4413 yes, the ink with Sawgrass is expensive but I only replace it once a year and I use my printer a TON! My first epson printer was a conversion printer and to be honest it gave me such grief that I now gladly pay the extra ink cost just to have a true sublimation printer and not a converted one. However the epson f170 isn’t a conversion one so you should be good with either printer! I’d just steer clear of ANY epson that was not specifically designed to be a sublimation printer.
With Sawgrass, as long as the printer is plugged in, it will automatically run a little ink through so it doesn’t clog. For me this was huge cause that was a big issue with my first epson. If it sat for any length of time unused it was a pain to unclog the lines.
