Join the Museum in welcoming Amber St. James, from the iconic legendary Haus of St. James, here, in San Diego, California, for a "sickening, prideful performance" inspired by a work in the SDMA collection. Moved by the Dogon sculpture currently on view, Amber draws energy and strength from the piece as they break free from darkness and into a joy-filled dance routine.

This electrifying video performance is by Amber St. James, a local writer, activist, and drag queen, who brings their high-energy combination of dance, drama, and joyful self-expression to the Museum through the art of drag with a choreographed performance inspired by a Dogon sculpture, on view in the Museum collection, and just in time for San Diego Pride.
