Thank you for this important message. Cannabis induced psychosis is on the rise in teens and young adults due to the extremely high potency in today’s marijuana products, and the increase in cannabis use disorders.
@@asklisapodcastwould like to add: excellent, wise advice in this discussion. I had no idea the regular use of cannabis would be so damaging to the adolescent brain, and actually thought “well at least it isn’t alcohol” when I realized my teen was smoking. My ignorance led to grave consequences for my child. The cannabis industry convinced me weed was natural, safe and medicinal. This is totally false for the developing brain, and for some mature brains too. Thank you.
You are invaluable. Please, I'm sole caring adult in my children's (17/19) life. They hardly talk to me, let alone consider anything I say worthy. I tried referencing you , with your indisputable knowledge (Unicef is great -> altruistic motivation) without much more than the eye-roll. He's in a wheelchair, preparing A-levels. In theory. Mostly games and weed. Any advice/tipps, anybody?
That sounds like such a tough position to be in, and you’re doing so much by continuing to show up for them. Connecting through small, low-pressure moments (rather than advice-giving) might help rebuild trust. Sending you strength. ❤
The assumption that something is good simply because it's "natural" is called a "naturalistic fallacy" or an "appeal to nature" fallacy, which is a logical fallacy where someone incorrectly assumes that something found in nature must be inherently good or better than something that is not natural.

Such an important point. The potency of today’s cannabis is a huge concern, and more awareness around the risks is definitely needed.

Yes! It’s so important to be aware of logical fallacies like this-just because something is "natural" doesn’t always mean it’s healthy or safe.
