So memorable. Was one of the all time great nights. Couldn’t get in hammy end, ended up Putney terrace.. perfect when players came out the cottage. More like 30,000. Old boys looking well. Ivor a goal scoring legend……

I was thinking the same, Dale Tempest looks like he could last the full ninety minutes today.

Also ended up in the Putney end that night. Just 10 years old with my Dad, such a memorable night

Arrived a little late with Dad, couldn't get in the Hammy, ended up in the Putney End. Big Rog did the biz, but tbf Lincoln gave us a hell of a pasting with 10 men, The final whistle couldn't come too soon. Ha ha I do remember the Lincoln pelting our boys with anything they could lay their hands on! Great days under Mac, just such a shame the club was tun by Ernie Clay.
    What could have been....

Just caught up with this, what a magical night . I can remember being moved around by the swaying crowd at the Hammersmith End ,if there were under 30.000 at the cottage that evening I'm Elon Musk.
What a pity there is no film record of Roger Brown's epic header.

Remember it so well. Had nerves but there was some confusion over our seats so that made me forget the nerves at the start. That is until they equalised. Can't believe it was 40 years ago.

First and only time I ran on the pitch, remember Roger Brown's header and the relief I felt at the final whistle, not much else.

Some dirty scuzzy git spat in my face that day. I was only a boy. He’s probably dead now.
