    First in the States to receive the PB Swiss Insider Stubby. Rreturned it because the Bit Cap was so loose, it opened if turned upside down 🙃. Caps need to be *threaded* to stay locked 🔓, like the first edition Pocket Insider Tool!

    Pro Tip: For those who enjoy japanese style ball-grip screwdrivers, you can easily turn your PB Swiss stub ratchet driver into a ball-grip by using extra long bits.

    I'm glad they took care of it for you Doc. 👍
    I may have mentioned it before, but check out railer tools for some nice bit holding rails and sets. I'm really only interested in the holders though.

    It's nice that they took care of it, but I think it's kinda silly to make a deal over a tiny gap that doesn't affect the functionality of it in the slightest.

      As I move over and up in tools, i give many of them away but mostly to high schoolers starting to find their way, and folks and mechanics I come across in life. It's fun to say, "here, try this." And they like it. So I say, "keep it! Enjoy"

    I actually got the same one and the cap was about 2mm off-centered. Thought it was meant to be that way but will try to contact them to see. Hopefully they are willing to cover the shipping to Australia. Thank you very much for your info!

    You are opening the cap by putting your finger/thumb nail into the gap. If there wasn't a gap, or it was much smaller, wouldn't it be more difficult to remove the cap?

    I have the 8510R-100 which means it's the long ratcheting driver with no bit storage. I was annoyed with myself that I made the mistake of ordering one without bit storage. I never used it. It is silky smooth though.

    • @scotts4125
      @scotts4125 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@htr5372 I would counter that by saying any bit storage is better than no bit storage. I also have the Wera which has storage but the shaft isn't as tight as the PB Swiss. The LTT seems pretty well thought out but the only knock is the bit size. I still might order one.

      @@htr5372 I have the Oplast Gedore SilentGear 2675 screwdriver and it is quite bad quality. The ratchet mechanism is very sloppy, so much that I send it back because I thought it was broken, but the new one worked just the same. It's weird because the Oplast Gedore version WITH bit storage (SilentGEAR 2169-012) works very well. It's like they used a version with cheaper ratchet internals for the 2675 or something. It's too bad, because the idea itself is awesome (lightweight Rolgear screwdriver with no internal bitstorage). Try and get your hands on it and review it if you can. It's quite cheap in europe.

    • @mountaindweller4514

      @@htr5372 When ratcheting sometimes it will slip. Try holding the shaft with one hand and rotating the handle left and right with the other. You can feel that sometimes ratchet mechanism slips instead of gripping and rotating the shaft. Also, you have to hold the shaft to change the ratchet direction - this is not the case with the other version with bit storage, where you can hold the handle instead.
      To me it just felt lower quality than the version with bit storage. Of course there is the possibility that both of the screwdrivers I received were from a bad batch.
      Another problem with Rolgear is that there is quite a bit of rotational slop in the locked position compared to other ratchets.
      I also have a feeling that the torque you can apply to Rolgear is less than with other ratcheting screwdrivers.
      Would be interesting to see a comparison of how much torque the different ratchet screwdrivers can tolerate. In theory the lower tooth ratchets should be able to handle the most torque.

    All of their ratcheting screwdrivers have the same air bubble on the black plastic piece. I wrote them an email about it, they didn't even reply. Great that you are having a better experience.

    • @CrowemagModelWorks
      @CrowemagModelWorks ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do not think it’s a defect….more so a product of the manufacturing process. It has zero impact on the functionality of the unit. I have several of their ratcheting drivers and they all have it.

    Mean…. For the price they charge for that little screwdriver, I would be really pissed if they didn’t do anything about. But I also think that’s a really tiny problem to justify a screwdriver being shipped to USA from Swiss.
    Good RMA.

    a fishing multi tool sounds very unhygienic. How you clean it properly

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Easy. I don't clean it until it's really gross. Then I hold it underwater in the river or lake and shake it. Works like a charm. Then I set it in the sun on a rock to dry. And then forget about it, go home, realize my mistake, go back and look for it, can't find it, and go buy a nice new clean one. Simple. Rinse and repeat, literally.

    “Known issue”… okay… so… the $64,000 questions have to be… why are they shipping faulty products… and from where does one have to acquire one to avoid jumping through warranty claim hoops? I was just about to order one of these on Amazon - your video is super timely THANKS - but I’m in Australia and shipping is a royal pain in the fundamental orifice of late.

      @@MPD90 Obviously you are wrong. You’re assuming that they didn’t ship a product with a known issue. That’s an assumption on your part. It is an objective fact they did indeed ship products with issues known or unknown. Read the question again. I asked why they are shipping faulty products. You’re answering a question I didn’t ask. Move on. You’re adding nothing useful to this discussion.

    These Hand Tool companies that make these intricate *All-in-Ones Screwdrivers* 🪛 NEED to better Design/Engineer the Bit-Carousel Cap so it securely locks 🔓 and does NOT 😤 open!
