We have a restored movie palace in town that does a showing of this every year with live music from the wulitzer organ. It's amazing. LOVE this movie.

You can find such machines at the Nethercutt Museum in the San Fernando Valley, you must pre-arrange visits. Very impressive tours, even more impressive is the sound fx that can be generated with these old machines

Of all the film adaptations done, this original 1925 version is considered the most faithful to the book, despite a few changes

      True.
The most disappointing version is that by Hammer Films with Herbert Lom as the Phantom.
After Lon Chaney, other 'Phantoms'' are just mediocre.
Only the Robert Englund version of 1989 was mesmerizing in its supernatural aspect of the pact with the devil.

One of motion picture history's greatest horror movies from the silent movie era. Lon Chaney's portrayal and classic makeup job of Erik, The Phantom Of The Opera is one of THE most memorable creations he ever did. Chaney was a very talented character actor and makeup artist. Man Of A Thousand Faces. He was.

Wow!! I enjoyed that more than most of the horror films they have out today with sound! That was really engrossing and had me on the edge of my seat!! In the silent film era they had to really put the facial and body movements into it that really made great movies! Perfect start to Halloween!👍🏼🎃🍁🍂

Yo this film is truly good, wow, seriously first time viewing this movie and it’s good. The Legendary Lon Chaney aka Man with thousand faces- truly lived up to his name because that make up he did for the PHANTOMMMM truly creeped me out and his acting in the film, gave me sympathy for him even though he did committed murder and mayhem in the opera house. The Film had a great story with action that blend into the film both ways, wasn’t bored through the whole plot.❤👍🥂🪦 “I Am Your Angel Of Musiccccc!” (The phantom singing to Christine in the Broadway Play of The Phantom of the Opera)
