In this installment of the thesis diaries, we pick up where we left off in the last episode - racing to the deadline to finish and submit my masters thesis! After receiving 100+ revisions ONE WEEK before the final submission, I went into survival mode where I hunkered down and wrote as fast as I could to finish this behemoth of a research project. Hello there! I'm Katie, a graduate student at Parsons School of Design studying fashion history and fashion theory! I really love old stuff, and started my educational journey as a community college transfer student at UC Berkeley where I studied anthropology and archaeology. (I'm bad at lit reviews.) I always remember this line in the Harry Potter movies: "You're going to suffer but be happy about it." Yeah, that's about right when it comes to these things. But, these labors also make good stories to tell, and you've told a great story with these episodes. Congrats, and onto the next struggle! =)

I am submitting my master's thesis in about a month and my ADHD brain is not cooperating as well as I would like it to, but I know I can and will do it! Congrats on submitting your thesis! This is really motivating me right now.
You’ve got this!! Don’t be afraid to trust yourself and lean into your ADHD ability to respond to deadline pressure - just remember to also take care of yourself with sleep, adequate nutrition, water, movement, etc. I know you can do it!! I’ll cross my fingers for you and please update me when you’ve finished!

And we were required to use Chicago for our thesis! With my Anthro background I was raised on APA so it was quite a shift but I have learned to love footnotes lol

What is that neck and shoulder warmer you have? I need one of those! I get such a cold neck and shoulders when studying at my desk too.
I think I just searched up “shoulder heating pad” on Amazon to find the one that I have! I have a repetitive use injury that flares up so the heating pad really helps
