I watched it 16+ times in a row I loved it that much seriously I was hypnotised by the video it's such a gorgeous aesthetic and when Chen said "can I be your boyfriend" I nearly fell off my chair. I agree that on paper that lyric is kinda bleh but in the song it's perfect, they just carry it so well

Baekhyun can be a gentle ballad singer, but he also can be fierce when needed to, for example on monster and lotto, also if you watch him on live stages you'd see more of his fierce side. I hope you give the full album a listen it's really good. Also the one you can't remember is Ka-ching and it's their Japanese debut.

To add to what people have been saying, this company has a very long relationship with EXO. From their website you will see they did the EXODUS Patchcode teasers, Call Me Baby, Love Me Right, Monster, and now this. I think their work on EXODUS was actually one of the first (if not the first) opportunities they had to work on a kpop video. It's nice that SM actually seems to give companies like them a break into the industry.

Baekhyun soft? I don’t think I’ve heard that before lol. He’s actually one of the most fierce members in my opinion (nothing wrong with being soft though). I hope you check out the new album and give their debut album a chance sometime. They both have the funk element in them and it’s great!
Baekhyun def has the best stage presence in EXO after Kai and you'll notice that once you get into them more. Just go back and watch Monster stages or Lotto performances where Baekhyun had to do Kai's parts. He's soft when he needs to be but he gets DEEP into dark concepts.

IKR! He became the center for CBX for a reason. His growth and improvement as kai mentioned is unbelievable. Who wud have thought SM wud give him a WHOLE SOLO DANCE STAGE!! Vocal stage was expected of him bcz brush MY MAN CAN SING! When PD said he didn't think of Baekhyun as fierce or he didn't catch hus eye I did a double take but then he is mostly cute and soft in public so that's understandable.

i love seeing xiumin getting the recognition he deserves. he's my ub and has been since i got into exo a few years ago (exo were my first kpop group). i feel like he's finally being appreciated within the past year. his voice is soft and really unique and i love this subunit so much because when he's paired with chen and baekhyun he really stands out.

i love this era so much, where you said everything's quite easy-paced that seems to be a common theme in the entirety of cbx's new album without the track-list purely consisting of ballads and it's such a refreshing thing to see. it'd be great if you could do a review of the whole album too.. but maybe a cbx diving deeper would be worth suggesting because their japanese full-length album is coming up too and they already have so many notable songs you may not have had the chance to listen to yet!
definitely check out baekhyun's monster fancam (literally any) and you'll see the fierce side of him! he's a genius idol because he's so flexible when it comes to performance

Wow, that’s a very interesting perspective! Baekhyun’s actually known to have a really demanding stage presence on stage; he shines incredibly and tends to actually stand OUT on stage, so that was definitely a surprising observation haha. Love the video, as always!

I think you thought that about baekhyun because you don't really know EXO that much, his nickname is Genius Idol because he basically suits all geners and can do everything, he can go from so soft to hard really fast also he's one of the best stage presence in kpop on stage and tho he's a main vocalist and never had any dance lessons before joining exo he's an AMAZING dancer, seriously you just need to pay attention to him more

I like this song, has a positive vibe, it's a little flirty but it's fine, it works, yes Baekhyun looks very well with blond hair, Chen's vocals wow, Xiumin looks very good.

It’s funny to me as a Baekhyun stan hearing you say that you saw a fierceness you haven’t seen before. Not just because he’s my ult, but if you watch some live performances you will learn that Baek is probably the second most fierce in EXO on stage (I would say most fierce LOL). He’s a big ball of love and a cute mochi off, but he has a switch that IMO is only matched by Kai. He’s an amazing dancer and singer. He has crazy charisma. He really has it all and is called the genius idol because of it!
Anyway I’m sure you can tell I love Baekhyun a lot and I hope you learn a little more about him now! He’s really amazing.

I loved everything about this song. I was honestly a little hesitant because I do enjoy ballads but they're not songs I would listen to on repeat, which is the vibe that Blooming day gave me at first. But holy shit I was blown away when I watched the MV. It was honestly everything I wanted and more in the comeback. The album itself is amazing as well and I have to get this as a physical album.

I love this song. It was completely different to my expectations. But CBX seems to be keeping to a style which seems pretty unique for mainstream k-pop. I love the chorus. It's pretty toned back and simple for a chorus and I love the feel it gives.
I also had the same thoughts about Baekhyun. I didn't pay him much mind and saw him as the ballad singer type. My opinion changed a bit when Monster was released but I think CBX's releases do a good job at highlighting not just Baekhyun's, but all three's versatility and I'm so happy they've gone with this sound.
I think the Can I be your boyfriend part was executed very powerfully and shamelessly, which made it work
the whole album is AMAZING. you should try listening to it if ever you have the time, video or none. and cbx are legends.
Baekhyun is such a versatile performer. He can pull off almost any concept (especially fierce and confident) through performance; which includes acting, dancing, and vocals. He also has a very strong confident stage presence and snatches wigs (because he can pull off anything). Loved this reaction!!

He is the loudest member and the funniest one, also he in monster and lotto he is hot af, you should really react to more exo like live performances
your thoughts on baekhyun are way opposite than mine. from the first time i saw him (it probably influenced my impression on him), i got to see exo on variety shows back in 2013 and he's just this energetic, bright person. i never really thought much about him at first because i didn't know at the time that members of kpop groups have respective roles assigned to them. as for concept wise for exo, he's like a chameleon. he absorbs and he fits all the concepts thrown at exo. genre wise too! it's what made me stan him, he's like a total package. i think your perception of him has to do more with what specific concept sm gave to baekhyun. he has a "puppy-type" visual. in solo projects, he's given mostly super cute and soft love/ballad songs and i wished sm broaden his concept more and let the world see how amazingly talented he is and how he'd fit any genre there is his voice is very unique. i never saw him as a ballad guy, for me that would be chen. anyways if you look at exo's concepts throughout the years back to back, you'll see how he transforms in each of them and then pulling it off so greatly. just in styling wise for every exo era you can see how he changes into a completely different person, he's that amazing. i wish you notice him more!!!

Idk why but I think this years kpop trend is doing something beautiful out of basic beats (Love Scenario, Blooming Day, Shine etc.) and i‘m honestly loving it!!

I seriously love watching your reactions. They're so satisfying lol. Baekhyun definitely killed me in this comeback. I promise you, Baekhyun is not soft, he's really funny and loud lol, and he has a fierce confident side definitely haha
This is what's nice about sub-units. You get to notice the members a bit more. Regarding baekhyun, this is just an observation, I think people who have that impression of baekhyun usually haven't seen a lot of their live performances. Baekhyun does amazing in both happy/light and dark/fierce concepts. IMO that's because he makes very good facial expressions and goes hard on choreo (just look at him, he looks like he's clenching his jaw). I think him and Kai are the best at that. Some examples: Monster, Lotto, Diamond, Wolf concert version, and even in Mama when they just debuted. I watch him and I get that thought that man, he was really born to be an idol.
For the "can I be your boyfriend" line, it's interesting because that line is actually very effective. It elicits a response, lol almost every reactor I've watched, female or male, responds to it. Ditto on the camera shake thing being an intentional technique to emphasize the beat, too bad music show cameramen don't get that... I doubt they watch the original music video to get tips. If by Project Architecture you mean VM Project.Architecture, they did do this video!
I agree that Baekhyun does seem like a gentle vocalist at first impression. His pretty looks and soft voice give off that vibe. But he’s actually SO fierce. I think he really prefers these kinds of concepts and songs that are faster and and exciting. His voice goes great with any concept. If you watch him during live performances, he never slacks. His dancing is always very sharp as if he’s putting all of his strength into each move. His facial expressions almost seem carefully planned to give off, like you said, a sort of swagger or intensity. Fact of the matter is, he’s an incredible performer in every aspect. I’m sure that when he has an actual promoted solo (the solos he’s had so far were just singles, OSTS, or collabs) he will want to do something fast and crazy. Sm has been giving him more and more opportunities to show so many sides of him...he can just do anything. I think he seemed like a soft ballad singer because maybe your first impression of him was him doing that sort of concept. If you had seen this first, you’d probably be surprised to see his ballads because you would have thought his speciality was upbeat pop and choreo. He just executes anything with such a level of confidence and mastery that youre totally and completely sold on that being his thing. But then he goes and does something else equally as perfect...it’s truly incredible. Anyway, just leaving this comment because I found your observation about him to be very interesting and thought provoking in regard to how he comes off. Love your reactions by the way!!

I love this song and video. I especially like the colours used in the video - it reminded me of the colours used in NCT’s Touch MV; soft and warm pastels. I think the « can I be your boyfriend » line works, no matter how it’s sung, because I can only imagine the young fan girls and boys just melting when that line is delivered. Also, CBX look amazing.
