    Tiktok skin care routines scare the heck out of me. I'm not one for routines, and I'm certainly not one who can afford twenty bottles of whatever product they put on their faces. So this helps. I think sticking to cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen already helps a lot

    • @JasminMiettunen

      You shouldn’t use acids daily, a retinoid on most days and using the azelaic acid once or twice a week could work. Don’t use them on the same day! Just one or the other.

    • @DrMadalyn
      @DrMadalyn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Wow such a great point and thank you for bringing this up! You’re absolutely correct. The reason why is because the studies are limited, so dermatologists recommend avoiding retinoids/retinols altogether. Ingredients like azeleic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C are safe, but always consult with your doctor first! :)

    • @DrMadalyn
      @DrMadalyn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Should’ve elaborated on that more in the video so thank you for bringing this up! Retinols and retinoid should be avoided in active rosacea flare ups, however well controlled rosacea pts can use a more gentle retinol as tolerated and slowly acclimate their skin as described in the video, which can actually benefit their skin in the long run :) hope this helps!
