Polee Nabz. I hope you’ve recovered. Please be careful where you eat if you haven’t prepared your own food. Always ask the friends showing you around to let you know of clean eating establishments near whatever area you are in.
I think the county government of Mombasa should start investing in the modernization of the city. I mean, it's no bad that that's (Being old) what makes Mombasa touristy but uplifting its face to a more modern look would really do justice to the young and vibrant tourists. Anyways, as a Kenyan I think It's still a great place to visit for it's beautiful beaches and culture of the People.
7:55 "I took street food for dinner" That's exactly where the food poisoning occured. Always take precautions before consuming food prepared elsewhere - Microwave it first so as to kill all pathogens. Corella is causing havock in that coastal city. 17:09 That water is not Indian Ocean salt water being pumped in your apartment;it untreated well water which happens to be a bit salty but the locals have no alternative and have been used to it. That water is what is called hard water with a lot of calcium salts in it making hard to wash clothes difficult using local detergents
So by the time I had street food on Thursday night, I had already suffered food poisoning Wednesday night from food we got in a reputable restaurant. The street food didn't agree with my stomach too but the stomach was already messed up. Thanks for the correction about the hard water and the fact that it's from the wells, I didn't know this. Thank you so much
Nabz , next time you have food poisoning get a teaspoon full of charcoal dust , get a hot glass of water and put the charcoal teaspoonful in the glass stir until dissolved wait it cools down siph it and drink the mixture and you will be well within a few moments.
This is actually my remedy for food poisoning, my mom has been giving it to me since I was a child and it always worked. Except this time I didn't have access to charcoal but my friend gave me charcoal tablets and they didn't help at all
The Technical University of Mombasa buildings looks like Mosque because they were founded by early Muslims Arabs who ruled Mombasa and were left to the Muslim community as "waqfu" but the Government took them besides that Technical University there is Khamis High School which was also of the same story
I have never considered it too while traveling, but after this experience I'll carry some medicine to help with it and also look out for what I eat when I travel
This clearly wasn't sight seeing. Guy is shady n I suspect he had other motives. He wasn't interested in showing u anywhere; he actually didn't! He says he attended an event in Mbale then questions on how Mbale looks like. Says he has previously done water sports at the creek but asks directions to where it is. He clearly also isn't a coast native as he claims. When asked eg where he went to school n what he studied he took too long cooking an answer. Naaaah. Red flag!
This was as easy as ABCD... your name and passport No. are sufficient enough since the number is already in the system...js quote it verbally and it's done! Simple
It's important to get facts right. There are millions on Mombasa and they don't use ocean water for domestic purposees.. water I every coast will taste different. Otherwise good job.

Thank you so much for clarifying on this. Thank you.
Water has never been blue...it's the sky reflection that makes your eyes see blue
I know, when the sky is clear on hot days, the water looks blue coz of the reflection
That’s the thing I love about Mombasa you can move around in a dera and no one says anything, such chill Islamic vibes.
Yessss
Your friend was really kind😊😊
Oh yesss
Looks more like a date to me than a 'whatever you call showing someone around' 😅
😆😆😆😆 I didn't consider it a date

I had the same experience when I got to Mombasa till i started cooking for myself,,but the rest of my stay it's was amazing.

Do you really need ID to deposit money?
I still wonder too
To reduce fraud cases that's why you require your ID/Passport to deposit and withdraw using M-pesa.
Food poisoning...???? How...????
Please look up the term
