- Hey Friends ,
Here I have started to explain the series of Conjunctions.
According to the students, Conjunction is a very confusing topic but after watching my series of Conjunctions, this topic will become the easiest topic in English Grammar. I give full guarantee that you will never forget the use and rules of conjunctions.
Conjunctions are joining words that join two words, two phrases, two clauses or two sentences together.
These are broadly classified into three types-
1) Coordinating Conjunctions
2) Correlative Conjunctions
3) Subordinating Conjunctions
In previous video I have explained the first type of conjunction that is Coordinating Conjunction. And now in the present video I am describing the second type of conjunction i.e. Correlative Conjunction. I have explained these conjunctions with the help of examples.
These are multi word connectors and join two independent clauses, phrases or words of equal rank. These are paired words.
Correlative Conjunctions are of two types-
1- Correlative Conjunctions of addition:
both....as well as
not only... but also
no less than
no sooner than
hardly when
2- Correlative Conjunctions of choice:
either... or
neither... nor
whether.... or
rather..... than

Can u please differentiate between coordinating and correlative conjunction of addition
Coordinating conjunctions are single words to add or join two or more clauses.
For example.....
for ,and ,nor ,but ,or ,yet,so.....
Correlative conjunctions are pair of words to add or join two clauses.
For example....
Both....and,
not only...but also,
either.....or
neither....nor,
no sooner.....than
hardly...when
Whether ..or
Etc ...
Coordinating conjunctions: FANBOYS are used to form a compound sentence.
A compound sentence contains 2 meaningful sentences. We call these 2 meaningful sentences 2 independent clauses.
An Independent clause contains a subject and verb, but it must deliver a complete idea.
Example:
I like coffee. ➡️ you can call this a full sentence or independent clause or simple sentence because it contains a subject (I) and verb ( like) and predicate ( like coffee), and it delivers a meaningful idea.
Similarly, if you want to join 2 meaningful sentences ( 2 independent clauses), you need the help of FANBOYS, coordinating conjunctions.
Example:
I like coffee, and Mary likes tea. ( equal comma is optional)
He felt cold, for it was snowing.
He is old, yet he works hard.
He loves me, but I don't love him.
You can stay here, or you can come with me.
He doesn't smoke, nor does he drink.
I was sick, so I went to the doctor.
If you look closely to the above sentences, you'll find that each sentence has :
• 2 subjects
• 2 verbs
• a Comma
• a coordinating conjunction.
• 2 meaningful ideas.
This is the compound sentence.
And note that: a compound sentence can have even more than 2 clauses, when using "and" and "or".
Example:
John went home, but Mary went to the shop, and I went to the cinema.

Good question
Correlative conjunctions coordinating conjunctions m hi aate hein.... Bas difference itna h ki ye paired hote h... So u should use them in compound sentences....

These two conjunctions seem same in use but either..or shows positive sense..and certainty ..
whether...or shows negative sense and uncertainty...

Please answer my question He is better than good.?
What are u asking?.. If about the correction of this sentence.. than..
This sentence is already correct.
better than good means very positive.
Better than good.... is an idiom
@@navieducation4068 i ask ye kon se conjunction ha either neither ya koi or i need this ans kindly reply me
This sentence is simple sentence.
Kyonki isme ek hi clause h....
In this sentence...there is no conjunction...because conjunction two clauses ko join karta h...here adjective ki comparative degree use hui h...
Degrees of Adjective to padi hongi...
Vahi comparative degree ka use h simple sentence.m.
Clause meaning?
Clause means a part of a sentence which has a subject and a main verb
If you work hard, you will pass
If you work hard....ek clause..(..you .).. subject...(work) .. main verb
