I’m 37 years old. 7 weeks into learning graphic design and you have become my TH-cam mentor. I was needing this in a design idea I want to play with… and you have already made the video 🤣 Thanks for all the great content!
thaaaaaaaaaank you for this dude, the second technique was the only one i knew and it doesn't give as much control as the first one you showed. bless you
Very key point he made = Your object must be large for this to work!! I couldn't figure out why my halftone looked so pixelated until I made the entire thing larger, which smoothed everything out & then expand/image trace it. & Then you can scale it back down afterwards. Thanks for the video!!!
This technique is limited to a single direction gradient. For a more Op Art style look, create a number of gradient shapes around a canvas of at least 3000 pixels, make grayscale, then use the halftone filter. 45 degrees + 40 line screen works well. Convert to bitmap and bring into Illustrator to auto trace. If you start with a smaller canvas in Photoshop, the smaller dots will likely be square, since it didn't have enough resolution to capture the shape. I like to use the bitmap file in InDesign and assign a different color gradient to the dots as well as the background of the frame. You can get some radical looks that way. Yes, InDesign can do some things better than Illustrator. Quickly assigning a color or gradient to a bitmap is just one of them.
I love your content! It's so good to see you grow. I joined at like 15K subscribers and now you're near 650K... That's amazing. All your hard work is paying off. Well done!
Hello, thanks for this video. Love it! I’m designing a 3D type by extruding the letters in AI. Rather than using gradients to depict depth/shadows, I want to apply a halftone effect. Can you please tell me how can I add this effect to the extrusion part of my letters?
Holy shit! Thank you for this. I did a tutorial on this like a month ago but it was so unnecessarily complicated so I just downloaded a free vector. Again thank you for this. This was easy to follow. Thank you for your videos.
May I ask what screen recording software you use? And does it include the option to record your keystrokes? Or do you add those in another way? I was recently asked to record some tuts for work and haven’t done so before, so any information would be much appreciated! Your tutorials are the best on TH-cam in my opinion, you’ve taught me a lot! Thanks!
I dont know if this is relevant but i have some issues with te bottom typography the one that say DESIGN 1,DESIGN2 AND FINAL THUMBNAIL shouldnt you highlight the DESIGN 2 because it is kind of confusing to people who maybe have skipped ahead and dont know what design part they are in....like in UI design you tend to make the other radio buttons unselected and just select one so that the use can know what is currently selected.Hope you get me but overall a very very very good video i'll try to apply that tonight maybe
I love your videos! Very easy to follow. Question, if I wanted to make a sphere/circle with this effect, would it more or less be a line copy/rotated at the base of the line? Keep up the great work!
@@SatoriGraphics I am going to try this once I get home. Thank you very much for the quick response! I look forward to watching many more videos from you!
Hi! I'm following the tutorial step by step and when I'm having issues with the second technique. When I go to color halftone, the circles are HUGE and I don't get the effect you're getting in that step. Any tips? Thanks!
After attempting this technique, i have my main big text with the halftone compound path still visible behind it, how do i finalise this, expand isn't working and expand appearance isn't highlighted... Thanks
Hey Tom, thanks again for the 💥😎 vecotrs. Im going hard at C4D and plan on putting the stuff i make from you into that program! I prefer technique NumerO unO 👊👏

Glad it was helpful Rhea
Wow! This is brilliant. Many thanks for this massively handy effect.

Such cool ways to do the half tone effects. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day.

It's really pleasant to learn from you. Thanks a lot.
Love the tips, I don’t use the blend tool as much as I should, I keep doing it the hard way. So thanks for the tutorial
Satori Graphics can you go into more detail there?
wow. awesome technics!
Thank you! Cheers!

Both are great, but I think the 2nd technique is great for creating a quick half tone effect.
it is a pleasure to watch you and learn from you, so thank you and >>> Keep going :)
nice, there are a few ways to make halftone... there are also very useful symbols for halftone.... also there is a effect wich makes halftones...
Superb really helpful
clean and concise tutorial as usual...
Hey Thank you for this tutorial
😅
Welcome 😊
I actually like both but I am leaning towards the first technique :-)
I prefer the second option which I can further go on to expand and change colors as I wish. But overall great job I learned a lot.
very nice satori
thanks man, its so easy and simple
Hi there! Great tutorial, but how do i go about changing the color of the halftone letter on the first one? Thanks in advance!
Nice! Just commenting to boost your video

Thank you, very useful!
I love halftone effects!
The specified disssssstance tho! 🙌
i need to try out the transform method i always used the halftone effect with gardients...

i think Ai changed this option to something else, cause then I try to transform it, nothing happens. i cant make copies in the transform and distort.
I cant gradient the text. I dont know why. none of this is working :/
👌👌
