Ok, the opening scene. What you need to understand. Wukong was a very greedy monkey that discovered immortality. He earned it and was granted the power of budda and given false rank within the celestial court. The celestial court never trusted Wukong so they put a crown on him that if he does anything against the royal court he loses his powers. Wukong, still greedy and hungry for power goes on a mission to the west to gather the budda text and instead of betraying the celestial court like he originally planned, he decided to behave. As a reward, the celestial court removed the crown from his head and gave him a true celestial court title. . . Only that once again the celestial court lied. They gave him another false title and only made his crown invisible. Wukong had made many friends over his many lives. In fact, in this opening scene, the guy that kills him is actually his friend. Wukong said " I get why you don't like me but what makes no sense is why you kill my people? " Everyone that followed Wukong in his battle against the celestial court live long lives. However, they're cursed by the celestial court. Every time Wukong dies, he is reborn. So in this opening scene, Wukong separated his memories into relics. That way when he's reincarnated each new rebirth it will be up to that person to do what he wants. His death in the opening scene is how he plotted on removing the crown. And his friend that killed him, done so in collaboration. You'll also find out that most of the kings in this game were all the one's that followed Wukong and were eternally cursed in many ways. This game is about setting everything right. The destined one is Wukong reincarnated. Spoiler alert 😅⚠️
