Hi, I just wanted to let you know that you've inspired me to try out collaging myself. I randomly got your "How I collage part 2" video rekommended and I really love the style of that collage. I've always loved to do different arts and crafts, but since I started studying graphic design I've felt that everything has to be done digitally. Thank you for sharing your journey and your works! They are really inspiring and makes me feel that I, and everyone else as well, can venture outside of traditional paintings and the digital world ❤
I think you are a rare bird. Keep up the beautiful work. I think collaging is 20x more patient work than traditional "artist". And I think you stand out as a collage artist. :) As an art teacher in the past, I noticed we women are HIGHLY self-critical of our talents, and the art we create. I don't know why that is, because all art is valid. Don't ever feel you need to apologize for the art you create. Your talent is so optimal. 💖
I missed this video when you originally posted it and just viewed it today.* I hadn't realized how long I had been following you for. I was confused because everything you shared was familiar and then I realized I've been viewing you for most of your journey. You've improved so much! I'm much older than you, but you have definitely been an inspiration to me and fueled my interest in collage art. Thanks for all the videos!
emily i absolutely LOVE you. i discovered ur channel literally yesterday and you’ve inspired me so much, ur such a sweet soul and ur videos make me so happy. CONTINUE DOING WHAT U LOVE!!!!! ur so cool and so fun
Keep up the great work! Your collage pieces are so inspiring. I am personally impressed by your approach to creating such beautiful textured collage paper. There’s so much intention and energy in the shapes and lines. I find that creating a piece of collage art is similar to building something three-dimensional. So fun, unique and different than much of mainstream art. I am running into my studio…..
Wonderful work. Thank you so much for showing all your collage work and talking through your collage journey. Enjoying seeing how your lovely gentle whimsical style is so obvious right from the start.
It’s a calm and sunny day outside, I’m making banana mango bread, and all the while thoroughly enjoying the absolute cozy vibes of this video (as well as going feral over the art!) 😁😊 I think my day is made 🧡
You seem to have so many rules in your head, but you are immensely talented! Self acceptance take a long time but I am thankful that you are moving in that direction because you will find much success!
Emily do what you love and is your passion. You are an excellent artist, everything you do is outstanding and beautiful. You are very good in any media. I am following for many years since university, I admire so much. Your journals are magic and your creativity incredible. You are going to be successful in everything that you do. Love you ❤😊
It is so interesting to watch this video as someone who has been watching since your 'just digeridooit' days. I found you through your Year 10 GCSE Art Sketchbook tour- I had just started GCSE Art and was looking for inspiration! And I'm still here now...watching you talking about collages!
What kind of paper do you use for your collage? I'm not all that familiar with paper so it feels like the options are printer paper (which will buckle and warp), construction paper (which will get torn up), or expensive watercolour/artist paper.
So wonderful. Thank you for being so inspiring. Can you tell me what printer you use please? I’m just about to buy a new one and I’d love to find one that does quality pictures of my art. Thank you Em, You are just such a breath of fresh air on TH-cam.
Ohhh my god you are crazy girl.😍 i love all that you do and I hav fallow you from the beginning...and I just know that you end up amazing im so glad for you.big hug from me in sweden ❤❤❤❤❤
I don’t know why but I think you may want to call yourself a multidisciplinary artist. After all collage is just one of the things you do, even if it does take a larger percentage of your time right now. Do not neglect your other talents and skills. You have an amazing arsenal of art making skills that is rare to see among artists your age. I still think that you have to figure out how to get your Bug Hotel out there for people to enjoy. I don’t know if you know the illustration work by Samantha Cotterill. If there is another way to use collage work to illustrate she would be the one to look at.
Oh wanted to say I’m glad you accepted collage as worthy art. You are fantastic at it and i love watching you and seeing the results! Collage is just as impressive as painting, etc! Are you familiar with Eric Carle, who also did collage? Yours is better! Thanks for all you share! ❤
I saw the same “real art means painting” conflicts in art school… I think it stems from the thought that ‘commercial art’ is an oxymoron and because of that, illustrators struggle internally, feeling inherently inferior to gallery artists.
I wish your mini wall collages were available as stickers or just digitals we could use. I am a scrapbooker - only for personal use. I just got the Patreon membership (snips?) but i think i will upgrade to get the monthly print. I missed the seashell print. Can that level Patreon people buy past monthlies? Let me know.
I'm actually planning on making a bunch of stickers and prints from my tile collages for my next shop update. As for the seashell print I actually have a few left over, feel free to send me a message over on patreon and I can sort that out for you :)

You are such a hard worker. I bet you could charge people with a class how to make collage papers technique.

Hehe thanks so much! Thats quite the complement :)

If you're working in Photoshop AND collage, then that's definitely mixed media. 😀👍
☺👏🙂
