  • It's Spring which means its time for Swarms! We're seeing a lot of colonies performing swarm preparations and also seeing scout activity at a few of our swarm hives. We're really excited to catch some new colonies and we think you will enjoy these signs of the swarm season.

The bees are out spreading the well known fact! This is the best place in all of N.C. to move into for the summer!! Smart bees!! I'm excited to see further postings as things progress!!

😂First thing I noticed was the hair cut, to funny.👍 It's amazing how different the spots look with all the Spring growth.

I had a good 50 scouts on my trap the other day. Went to spread grass seed into the pasture.
Came back to take a break later on and found a very large swarm moving in!
Got it on video and took pics as well.
The calves walked right through that bee-nado like it was not even there. 😂

That's awesome! It's not easy to catch a swarm moving in but it's a beautiful sight!

      It sure was!
It didn’t last long and happened to be when all of the planets aligned properly for me to see them.
That was the third swarm off of that tree in under a year… in the same trap too. 😆

We are suffering up here with a long wet winter / spring. I like that look at 3:03

It's been sunny here the last few days and I hope it stays that way so the Bees can find our new housing. :)

I had a couple big clusters hanging out front of a hive on a cool day, but later they were gone. I think they were the ones that moved into my empty hive.

why not split? That Taranov split seems to make some sense for Layen's hives
