Formed in 1990 by composer John Korsrud, they have released four CDs, toured across Canada several times, to Europe, and have commissioned over 50 Canadian composers, both classical and jazz, such as Kenny Wheeler, Darcy James Argue, Brad Turner and Linda Bouchard.

As a fan of King Crimson, I never liked listening to others interpreting their works, whenever I listen to them, something is missing. However, there is a single exception and that is the Hard Rubber Orchestra. Congratulations.
I completely disagree. In fact I’ve made a 90 min. Compilation of fantastic Crimson covers. One in particular is Andy Diderenko who posted three separate smash-up videos. His channel is Andid74.
One of my favorite KC songs, and this is an amazing rendition! The singer has a powerful voice, and the violin solo is amazing!
One of the best surprises TH-cam's algorithm has given me, this kicks ass. It exudes just as much energy as the original and is so damn groovy!
The drummer and the horn section are absolutely tearing it up.
Love the Bruford-correct snare!
I love the use of drums in this version. I saw some bongos and I'm not sure if the larger ones are also called such but really an excellent addition. Such a great ensemble of instruments and musicians.
Congas :-) bongos are the little ones
I love the vocals and the violin in this version
It's great to see how adaptable KC's music has become. String ensembles, rock bands, jazz bands, hybrid string-rock-jazz bands... It all works.
Bravo! Excellent! I name this particular musical rendition 'Suicidal Swing'
They do it justice! Bravo!
Amazing, overwhelmingly good. This is not ‘simply’ a cover, this is a perfect tribute and the celebration on very high level of good music. Wonderful, fantastic job!
The band and singer were great would have loved to see more. light show
Excelente versión !!!
A ballsy endeavour and SO much fun!
BRAVO! It is so much fun hearing others tackle King Crimson music and make it their own! What a fantastic cover! Thanks!
Love this!!
The Algorithm has abandoned me, i had to *search* this content! Definitely not disappointed!
Blimey-It menaces, it grooves, it swings and boy does it rock!
Groovy Dude!!!

Incredibly well done..
This is the best cover that I listen all my life! Thank you everyone! Also, I really loved vocals of Erik Severinson.
Well, this is brilliant
Great Job !!!
Goodness gracious me... quite amazing!
I was there! I've seen the mighty Crim in concert 3 times, and the show by the HRO was *every bit* as enjoyable. Thanks so much to everyone who put this fantastic evening together.
Sweet
Great arrangement !
as a drummer i kinda wish he had atleast used a china cymbal instead of the trashy cymbal in the original.. i feel like it lacks something in that part... i definitely agree for everything else
@@La_sagne Yeah like he Never heard Bruford play !!!!
@@La_sagne Bruford's China really does make the recording, so I agree
Holy crap this is an incredible cover!
Great ! Thanks to this great drummer for keeping Brufford’s snare drum sound
Agreed. I'm a big fan of Bill's snap and crackle. A style full of tension and creativity
This is THE track for it to shine on
Bravo, excelente versión del tema de KC!!!!
Killer adaptation, I've seen KC 10 times and these guys nailed it.
Blimey!
Mui Bueno too man
IMPRESSIVE COVER. The brass section is AWESOME. Nice violin and sax solos too. Erik... great vocals. Do you take requests? Please cover Islands, Formentera Lady, The Letters or the 2 chord funky improvisation Peoria (from the live album Earthbound)... with such stellar brass section like yours that would be wonderful. Congratulations to all musicians and to the arranger.
superb version, ty
Overall an excellent performance, the singer does an outstanding job!
That's some kick-ass fiddling there, Mr Orchestra man
Cam Wilson is the best!
@@jkorsrud thx for naming and faming

Hats off to HRO, great arrangement & performance!
The story there is we only had two cameras and needed use the projection images to help bridge shots as we went from camera to camera as we tried to find decent images. Not ideal, agreed.
Fer-ho i sortir-ne viu , és un mèrit
Wow!! I was going to compliment the violin and sax soloist but the whole band is on fire !!Great drums & vocals too, Probably
KCs heaviest tune. Bravo to every player, well done....Bigger sound than the trio.LOL
KIng Crimson meets Frank Zappa - during my favourite period.
This may have been better than the original, just missing that Bruford pang.
It needs the bruford pang... badly...
There is one jealous person in here who can not appreciate talent, something the person does not have.
A great find. A stellar performance... technically and energetically captures the spirit of the composition. Perhaps redeems (for the moment) FB's insidious algorithms. Many here have commented on the production as being poor, and I appreciate the response from what I assume is the production team. I would only humbly add that, even with only two cameras, the directorial choices of on what to focus were often poor throughout. There is far too little of the excellent performance by the drummer, and the orchestra as a whole. The quick cutting back and forth from the performers to the visuals showing behind the orchestra are very annoying. A list of the musicians would be a plus... wonderful ensemble. And finally... does Robert know you're using KC images? Pity if he doesn't.
Credits appear at the end. I did send the videos (there are 3 or 4) to King Crimson's management. We never heard back. We did get permission to use CotCK album image for our publicity. I am the director of the ensemble.
I didn't know Ricky Gervais could sing!
More flava...
As I am not a vulgar person, I will only say Holy!
I could do without the flash and trash video effects, but otherwise quite nice.
Makes it more authentic. Nearly every Crimson concert video is similarly afflicted.
@@jonathanlane5546 No, quite the opposite, it distracts. You'd never see such a gaudy display at a King Crimson concert.
@@jonathanlane5546 No. Just no.
We had to do it, because we only had two cameras, so used the flash to help create a buffer as we changed camera views/
10/10 for effort....but it lacked the crisp of Crimson.
This may be sacrilege, but I prefer this guy's vocals to Wetton's.
This would be a good cover if someone explained the fine art of giving a fuck to the drummer.
