Also the Highlander attempting a 'Highlander Burial' but DFA doesn't exist in this game.
it actual does exist, colliding with other Mechs does very little damage. I once walked over a ledge with a Hunchback and fell on a Spider, Spider dead. Also i did it on purpose on at least 2 different occasions with Jump Jets but at the Point you can do that, the enemy is basicaly a Deadmech walking. Still a nice options when you are out of Guns, just Ram or DFA them. And funny as Heck.
@@Sinnersaix Yeah you can collide with your friends too and you take a smidgen of damage, I've gotten yellow once or twice because someone rammed right into me at the start.

I once gave a King Crab a Highlander Burial for shooting my chest open . They literall couldn't shoot me do to weapon depression so I stood on top of them till they folded inward. Legs gave in before anything else suprisingly.
@@Sinnersaix Collisions used to knock one or both of the mechs involved down (typically the lighter of the pair).
There was also a bug in the game that made the game engine treat the Dragon as a 100-ton mech when it came to collisions.
They removed the entire collision mechanic after a couple of World of Lowtax pilots in Dragons ended up in a match with one of the devs and proceeded to use him as a football for the whole match.

If I recall right you can get that as a kill horn too. Not sure if that came first or this series did.

It's great cause these reflected the player experience throughout MWO's timeline.

lol, i can feel that direwolf, when the entire team leave you to hunt a fast snipper with weaks guns to allow the opposing team main guns to move in closer and taking on the lone assault mech that was holding the line and miss out on the sudden shift to the rear.
Perfectly sums up MWO. I once led half the enemy team to the back of the map by taking pot shots with my locust and it's single light ppc
And it was never finished. Sad panda.

its coming back to life my friend, recently, I have never seen more players with the cadet status before. infact, 1 of my matches had 5 cadets alone in it, 2 on 1 side, 3 on the other.

Can I just say that these are awesome - fun, funny and on the nose. Love the movements and animation style. Compliments to the creators!

I am in awe of your talents concerning animation! I am an fan of the ritzy/glitzy cgi, but your style here has an appeal that harkens back to my younger days. As long as the spark is with you please keep up the effort to bring u, "us" being all of the "animation addicts", the efforts of your uber talentd noodles. Many, many thanks:-)

What's really funny is that, I have only played mechwarrior 4 mercenaries, but I understood almost all the references in this lol
this is so good, and yet only someone who did the MWO grind will understand
I tried to get into MWO after it had already been out for 3-4 years, I didn't get very far because the game wasn't newb friendly at that point. But even in the few hours I played I felt every scene of this video.

@@johnminervino9200 I think that the artist should come from within the community, otherwise you won't get those "in" jokes like poptarts, hopping timberwolves, learning about the 3rd person camera UAV...
Steve Blanka fair, though if NGNG wrote the script and collaborated on the storyboards I think it’d still come out crisp. He’s worked with TH-cam channels and podcasts before, incorporating in jokes from both mediums. Let those in the know write the jokes, let the animator bring it to the big screen.

That's what I was wondering too. If there was maybe some kind of raid boss injected into the matches haha
@@bombomos probably a reference to "don't chase the worm" what the team will tell their teammates so everyone doesn't chase the backstabber... Only this time the worm turns out to be an unstoppable foe that kills them all (which somehow happens pretty regularly to this day)
In Viridian Bog, the sound the worm makes can be heard in various areas around the map, and a brief animation of the work partially surfacing before diving back down again (you only see a small part of it and it's there for just a few seconds).
It'll be used as a test for future 40k editions, imagine only being able to move in straight lines with fast vehicles having a much longer moves so to get round a corner it would slow them down quite a bit. At the moment vehicles can perform all sorts of manoeuvres and not be slowed down
so many perfect moments.

Id love to see some ground boosters as an option for jump jets. Not sure how it'd work though

LoL, love the joke of how useless JumpJets are on the Highlander in MWO.
Where in Turnbase or table top. 3-4 jumpjets is plenty, to get on top of the highest building, get to the other side of a chasm, or to get out of a bad situation. Where in MWO, you hover like a inch off the ground. lol
I mean like the tech is there haha, the drop ships have the same tech for their engines so the mechs with jump jets should be "blasting off again".
@@bombomos The Jump Jets don't work well because, Piranha Games don't want them to work well! That's it. No lore or canon reasons.

I have no idea what I am watching or how I got here when the last Mechwarrior game I played for more than an hour was 4(Mercs) when it was relatively new... but I am here for this.
yeah my bro owned some battletech cards and i played a little of the old mercenaries game and idk whats going on but i enjoyed it =D. Tried MWO a long time ago but got wrecked into next week
I spent most of my free time the year before last playing the video game "Battletech," but I've still not really gotten into the community. Although I did calculate the theoretical possibility of an assault mech with four gauss rifles and stealth tech on a napkin a full year before I found out it actually existed in the Tex Talks Battletech episode, and I'm kinda proud of that.
I want to see more adventures of the Somerset Strykers.
