I love that you're delving into NF - something important to know is that Nate writes albums like they're books telling a continued story. He has a huge back catalogue that would take a long time - BUT - you kinda have to go back a bit to Mansion, then a few tracks from The Search to get the gist of the story and be fully ready for "Hope" which is a completely new direction and sound. Don't be tempted to react to "Mamma" too soon. You'll fall apart 😭
Nate suffered considerable Childhood trauma that has left him emotionally scarred and caused a nervous breakdown.
Nate's mum was a pill addict - her boyfriend physically abused Nate as a young boy. His mum did of an overdose when he was 19 and somewhat estranged from her - The regret and remorse consumes him.
His songs are about his life - his raw emotions are heart breaking. He's a super nice guy, kinda like Ren ❤❤

This song gets me everytime. I lost my mom to an overdose a couple of months ago, always struggled with her through my childhood. Im a mom to 2 beautiful boys and it hurts even more bc i can not ever picture hurting them like she did me.
