the people who disliked this aren't from the better land
should be the irish national anthem ngl
BRITS OUT
congrats brother on those 137 likes
Or suspect device by stiff little fingers
all rise
@@dannywoods1929 SLF best Irish punk band for sure 🤘🤘
Idles and fountains dc are the best thing that happend to recent rock music
I’ll be added to that list one day
There’s a big movement of rock music again. Lot of punk, grunge, midwestern emo. It’s great to see
yep. funny you said that bc i actually just found fontaines from idles radio on spotify and theyre a main in my daily rotation now
@@Michael-ku5fc you and I Michael
Funny you’d call them rock, always thought of them as a punk band.
Deserve to be back at Glasto in 2022. They deserve to be headlining Glasto!
@@syutub7635 And I am glad about that up the fontaines!
Ah the Fontaines, a great bunch of lads.
Is there a man looking at you wearing a t-shirt that says "I shot JR?"
@KNEWANDYTE45it's a Father Ted reference
Feeling young again, thank you.
I love these boys
Grammy nominated YES!!!!!!!!!
A lad with English connections singing in England on the BBC shouting 'Brits Out'. Grian is a legend!
🙌 yep.
The song is a satire of extreme irish nationalism and people who say brits out😭 what do u think he means when he says get yourself a good car get out of here? What do u think the better land he's talking abt is?😭
I am pretty sure he is singing about small mindedness and not using a tired old slogan. You'll note that the use of 'Brits Out' is in fact surrounded by other words which also contribute the the meaning. Why! put them together and you might get the gist.
Incredible
That mix was so bad.... But the band played awesome.
bbc can't mix !
How much tambourine would you like? YES
This broadcast mix is dreadful
@@gh_pics It takes some mixing skills to make it sound like his tambourine is right beside yer ear but his vocals are in a different postcode
Everything seemed so loud!
i love it
nearly forgot to watch this video today
Magic. Like love at first sight..
please for the love of god put the full live set back up!
Standard saturday night viewing, we need it back
Ace these la.
ma allora si può ancora suonare rock'n'roll ! Bravi
Grian is SO Very attractive…
This band is like a Joy Division for Millennials
Murder capital is. This is way too jazzy for the comparison imo
@@malomorvan784 I think its Grian’s stage presence, its very Ian Curtis
Crossed with The Fall imo
Whipping boy for the Millennials, the singer reminds me so much of Fearghal McKee
Don't you rather mean: This band is like a Joy Division for the Gen Z or the Zommers. You do realise that most of us Millenials are pushing 40. Or are at least over 30. The singer in the band was 25 in 2020..
Keep in mind that the earliest Millenials were born 1981.
❤️❤️❤️❤️🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
No too shabby
MIND BODY AND SPIRIT
You better hear it and fear it. That’s the spirit
Smoking Carrols now 👀
The Irish Fall.
is this the john peel stage?
Fucking amazing band
Love them IRISH!!!
100 mile an hour but class .lol
Luke Kelly on the banner too
Iveagh gardens July please god
Better than any idles
Fontaines r fantastic, singer as near to ian curtis in terms of manic intensity, hopefully not following the same path god forbid
I thought the exact same thing.
👍6
Chucked his guitar out of the pram!
this is so hot somehow haha
Put Hurricane Laughter up you cowards
Ian Curtis + josh homme, in a mosh pit
crowd want to liven up a little fucks sake
To be fair I doubt they would've had many fans outside of Ireland at the time. Their fan base would've probably been around Dublin as that's where the hand is from. At the time, Fontaines were way smaller than they are now.
go diail
First listen: Jesus Christ this band sucks, what garbage is this?
Second Listen: Hey this isn't so bad I guess.
Third Listen: SISTA SISTA HOW I MISSED YA MISSED YA
That's exactly what I was like.....something kept drawing me back to them
That last bit had me crying
faster isn't always better
Huh
Yeah
It is when you’re there
I don't think this is too hard to understand. Compare this to the original. It's ridiculously fast and suffers for it. @@syncops834
I like these guys, but adrenaline-boosted renditions are not necessarily better or they'd be the original versions. I'm glad you had a good time though. @@maryburke5423
Too fast.
i’d like to see you do better. liking your own comment.
@@znet9452 how can we see who like ?
Not fast enough, son
Jonathan Gibson this reply made my day 😂
@@sellxout I agree, get it quicker lads.
If only the tambourine player could sing.
Here we have a boy who ain't in the better land.
Nah, you wouldn't know a singer if they slapped you round your ear lobes, go to a hearing specialist you clown 🤣 😂 🙄 😒 😑 😆 🤣
@@The_AndroidSentByCyberlife here we have a commenter who definitely isn't in the better land, how could it be anything other than brexshitland haha 😆 😜 😄 😉 😅 😂 😆 😜 😄
Go listen to Celine Dione then, punk is not for you.
@@taniaarthur that's a good sense of humour you've got there buddy
Seems basic to me
