The Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS) was established in 1994 at Pokhara, Nepal, following an agreement between the Manipal Education and Medical Group and the Government of Nepal.
The 900-bed Manipal Teaching Hospital was set up in 1998 with the mission of becoming an excellent learning centre and to provide quality and affordable healthcare to people in the region.
The college and hospital have modern facilities and offer MBBS and PG courses in basic sciences and clinical subjects.
Affiliated to the University of Kathmandu, the college is recognised by:
Medical Councils of Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Mauritius
California Medical Board and New York State Medical Board
British Columbia & Ontario Student Assistance Program (BCSAP & OSAP), Canada.
It is also listed in the:
7th edition of the WHO’s World Directory of Accredited Medical Schools
International Medical Education Directory of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) which holds the United States Medical Licensing Exam.
