- Back in September we booked a last minute trip back to Zante, and decided to book the cheapest hotel we could find popular tour operator Tui, in one of their Scene Hotels. what discovered during our stay at the Tui Scene Maui Hotel will SHOCK you! This must surely be one the absolute WORST Hotels we have EVER stayed in, but don't take our word for it, see for yourselves!

It looks absolutely disgusting,I could not have stayed there for a week,I would have looked for a nicer hotel nearby,regardless as having to pay more..Shame on Tui for putting this on their site,regardless of what they charge
You're absolutely, I'm astounded that tui want to be associated with a hotel like this, shame on them for taking peoples hard earned money to stay in that hovel
I went to kalamaki in 2003 and I’ve never gone back, the apartments were similar to these
You weren’t allowed lightbulbs when yours had blown, weren’t allowed any food in the room or around the pool you could only eat what they sold and you weren’t allowed to put your towel over your balcony to dry, we found this out one day
We were lounging in the room and the cleaner just walked in went to the balcony took the towels off and pointed at us saying NO
I remember everything about it except the name of the place
It was the worst apartments I’ve ever stayed in and I’ll never go back to Zante
Things have changed a lot, this hotel is not typical of Zante. A lot of the rules you mention no longer apply, we also stayed in kalamaki and found the area and people to be really nice and friendly, it's a shame that some hotels ruin the whole island for some people
This is the review I left just arrived back. DO NOT STAY HERE.
The Maui hotel, where do I start went on a lads holiday and let’s just say part of our souls will be left in that hotel forever. On arrival we got roped into buying an event package from the hotel rep where we paid 175 euros for 4 events all of which you could have gone to without booking. When we entered the room, everything was falling apart floors, work surfaces, shower, beds and curtain pole. Mould was growing in the sink and the bed sheets and towels were all stained with all sorts (probably poo and blood). In our weeks stay our room was cleaned once and on this occasion we had to ask for it to be cleaned. Within the hotel there are hired private security and having sat on the balcony one night the next day we get a knock on the door this huge bloke comes in and starts viciously assaulting one of my mates, stating we had 1 more chance and that one more time and all of us will be put in the back of a van. We were told that 2 rooms had asked for money back because of us when in hindsight it was because of the absolute dump which they were living in. Mirrors were stained and the air con gave me and the lads the worst coughs of our lives to the point we were all coughing up blood. The hotel is advertised as self catering when all you get a kettle and a sink, let’s just hope you like crisps and pot noodles. Drinks in the hotel are massively overpriced and the people running the bar as rather miserable. To top it off as we checked out we were charged an additional 150 euro for a broken bed and dirty towels all of which were already broken before we got there. Overall, this 3 star hotel is one of the worst hotels on this globe and there is no way I will be recommending unless you want to come home as different people with no sleep due to the beds being like cardboard. A week of hell and filth for me and my mates especially due to the shower only being scolding or freezing as well as it being hand held with no shower curtain. This creates a huge flood on the bathroom floor.
Spot on review that. In fact, it sounds like it's done something I never thought possible, and got worse!
Thought id come back to this video and tell you. Macedonia in kalamaki is just over 400 euros in late july for a week so you got super ripped off on this hotel. But like you said its the experience that will help in future bookings.
Well that is an interesting deal, might have to look for early September and head back over, unfortunately not available in July 😔
nearly booked this place. glad i didnt, it looks minging, them towels are gross, and having to hold the shower head, well that came out of the caves.

nice island and bad hotels, I don't understand why there are no good hotels in this populous island .
I wouldn't say there are no good hotels, there are plenty of very nice looking hotels on the island, but they do cost a significant amount more

Most hotels in Laganas are dumps, for the kids, who usually wreck them, stick to Kalamaki, a mile along the road, especially the Macedonia - lovely hotel and staff

It was horrible, the staff were nice that's about the only good thing I have to say. A few more lessons learned here 😂😂😂
Well if your happy with it,that’s ok for a forest fan but not for me ok for young uns who wreck them like someone else said
It's not a place I'd ever want to stay again, certainly different from places we'd usually stay lol eh come on now about the forest thing 😂

Unfortunately we did stay for the duration, only on our last day did they offer to clean the room, which we turned down. But oh well, all part of the guest experience 😂
This hotel just reminded me of the one out of the Inbetweeners movie when they pulled up on the coach. Thought ours was bad enough last year with a threadbare shower curtain and cable protector around the bottom of the shower. You learn by your mistakes!!
