I’m sorry, I’m lost. What was I supposed to have learned? I assume the decibel meter was there to give us info but you talked constantly and even screamed a bit of a war cry at one point. Can you do a sound test without talking so we can eliminate variables between my speakers and your mic? I feel like I got no hard data from this video. I feel like you could have had a solid set of chrono numbers based on internal sleeve crossed with sound volume but no?
You should have measured the stock barrel to compare since the moab doesn't have any porting. 107 peak db is pretty loud. For example the CS3 measures around 95 db. 107 is +12 db. You perceive +10 db as twice as loud.
You can't compare to other dB numbers unless you have a controlled, calibrated environment. We tested both the FiburX8 and the MOABX8 with an SPL meter similar to where Rory has in this video and we got around 87dB for both barrels.
Should have core sampled this then run a stick to see if the end cap or barrel end comes off. Break paint in the barrel to see if the sleeve needs to be cleaned too.
As no porting now is present, it should be louder than using a normal barrel with porting. I didn't understand the test. Front insert supposedly provides better stability when the paintball is in the front part. Shouldn't you be testing air efficiency (FPS) and accuracy? I didn't really see why testing sound level to prove this barrels are worth it.
There is porting, it's hidden inside the outer sleeve. We tested both the FiburX8 and the MOABX8 with an SPL meter similar to where Rory has in this video and we got around 87dB for both barrels, so the MOAB is about the same as most any other high end barrel's sound signature.
@deadlywindpaintball ok so no improvements in loudness. So air efficiency and accuracy test still need it don't you think? I mean why should anyone buy this instead any other barrel with a normal insert kit o two pieces barrel with interchangeable back, or a silencio front to actually change sound signature. Sorry guys I am not a heater but I do would like to understand the point of this one. What is the value added?
Key concept in the Vegas layout: Getting closer to people is part of risk/reward for taking key spots or holding bunkers. Open more cross, blind, bounce, and bunkering lanes on those vital spots. Louder barrel wont be an advanatge if layouts change in 2024. So whats the advantage besides not having to screw a back and tip together? It isnt weight, bc youve got an aluminum barrel in a carbon fiber barrel. It seems loud. There arent any claims it magically self cleans or shoots straighter. Other existing barrels have sized tips and inserts.
It is not a loud barrel. We tested both the FiburX8 and the MOABX8 with an SPL meter similar to where Rory has in this video and we got around 87dB for both barrels, so the MOAB is about the same as most any other high end barrel's sound signature. You never have to think about the insert, unless down the road when paint keeps getting even smaller, this barrel has the ability to size down the front instead of buying a whole new barrel.
@@CharlesClementsjrThat's.. simply not true. The vented gasses equalize nearly instantly. The same SPL spike with rapid firing would be observed with any barrel.
I don’t see how it could looking at mine. It’s mechanically locked in place when the insert is in the back. Paintball players are amazing creatures though so we will see. What could happen is you could lose that little plastic insert when cleaning if you aren’t careful. Not too different from losing an eye cover or something though if you think about it. FWIW I really like mine. It’s quiet (especially at a distance) and it’s great at keeping the barrel free of any bunker sludge, rain, or debris. I favor it over my UL-I and S63 barrels.
Your decibel meter doesn't have a fast enough response time. That's why the level goes up when you rapid fire. The numbers you're displaying are way below the best 22lr silencers in the world. Silencerresearch tested on proper calibrated equipment found a "Black Maxx" paintball gun to meter between 116.5-119Db with paintballs and 126Db without. The numbers you're displaying are more in line with a Red Ryder bb gun.

Just got one. Its nearly identical to my double-ported Fibur X8. Main benefit is keeping rain/paint/debris out and the different sized tips for some added air efficiency. It's a cool product.
No different than any other insert system. You don’t have to run different sized tips if you don’t want. You could just run the largest one and it would be no different than using an S63 or UL-I.

Cs3 is more like 103 actually
Nano by carbón Is 86db

Camera audio is peaking HARD

So its a loud barrel. With 2 inserts

Single shots sound drastically different than ramping - interesting!
Brutal

@@CharlesClementsjrthat’s not how that works.
Did you test the fps ? That sounds whisper quiet
Any way we can get chrono testing Rory?
I'm wondering in a real-world situation, how often is that "tip" going to blow off during a game.

I'm in the bathroom watching this I got some deadly wind

I've been hearing it's louder than original is that true

@@WillisWoods thank you for the review appreciate it 🎉
Accuracy?
Won't be any more accurate than any other barrel. Quality paint is what leads to accuracy
The Unitec Lucky barrels were a MUCH better concept.
Cool deal but way too much work to change backs etc....
yeah im guessing it's gonna be popular with the scenario people
