HELLA Matrix LED System

  • The Matrix LED System allows the driver to travel in his vehicle with a permanent high beam without risk of dazzling oncoming traffic or any preceding vehicles. Technically speaking, this function is achieved using LEDs with individual electronic control, which are turned up or dimmed down as required. Using the Matrix technology now makes it possible to open several tunnels at the same time. While these are "hidden", the high beam continues to illuminate all the areas between the vehicles and to the left and right of them at full power.

    I enjoy reading comments from people who still cannot understand how a proper LED headlight system works from this video. Most headlight system that blinds other drivers are usually aftermarket HIDs and LEDs in the wrong headlight housings and are not compliant with DOT standards.

      I bought I car where the previous owner put in bright LEDs me personally thought it be cool too see good at night until a cop pulled me over and said my lights where super bright. To me siting in the car seemed bright but not overly bright cop told me maybe they had to be aligned told me to just be careful at night cause might blind drivers. I decided to head home right away next day put halogens in. I’d rather be a safe responsible driver then a idiot with overly bright light making it unsafe for everyone else

    This type was way better than the new HD matrix led, this actually cut the light accordingly, or rather made a "shadow" for approaching cars or the ones infront, the new HD just works by shortening the light instead of making a shadow path

    This tech is so cool. I was driving a BMW 5 series and you could see how the light shifts and it worked excellent since I didn't get any flashes from the other drivers.BTW this tech works only on high beams which is used only outside of populated areas. I had to write this since I have read a lot of amusing comments. Oh and this tech is years old and very expensive, only for luxury cars. Peace

    I agree with these new type of headlights are and can be blinding. That being said, I would venture to say, when these bulbs are installed, the headlight assembly is not re-aligned per vehicle manufacture specs. There are AXIS adjustments (at a specific distance the center point supposed to be adjusted. i.e., at 6ft. from the headlamp on a level ground, the main part of the beam is 3ft. high) where the main focus of the beam is supposed to be adjusted to. I would say most are aimed to high.

    They make this sound so neccessary... "Approx 30% of all accidents occur at night"... *Well* *that* *means* *70%* *occur* *during* *the* *day* ... 30% at night sounds pretty good to be honest.
    It seems pretty pointless and the next lighting gimmic next to _sweeping_ _indicators_ ; what they also fail to mention is:
    - "how long does it take the software to recognise a vehicle, and adjust the light pattern so it doesn't immediately blind that driver?"
    - "how accurate is the software at recognising vehicles? If the windscreen is slightly obscured by rain or road dirt, how much does this affect this accuracy?"
    - "Will the vehicle recognition software recieve updates?"
    You only need 1 exception for someone to be blinded by this.
    When this breaks due to age, vandalism, etc. it's going to cost an absolute fortune to repair or replace, because there is no way it'll be allowed on the road if it's not functioning correctly.

    That is a lot of expensive electronics to go wrong when(not if) it fails and needs to be replace as a complete unit.

    No many variables. That said, I don't like it and do not think this system should be put on the road. I 100% doubt it's reliability and therefore relying on this can cause an accident if it fails in even one way.

      Yeahh... of course 50k hours. LEDs for home use also had/have lifespan of 50k and they work 1/1000 of this time at best! This with those coplexity of making and controlling 50k hours buahahah!

      And just wait until you have to replace one due to rocks, vandals, or a minor crash. Car parts are getting so expensive. Soon someone will total a car by hitting wind-blown grocery bag, or a large leaf - LoL. But if just a chip goes out, break out the soldering rig and replace it. Those things are too expensive to throw away when they are working 96% perfect.

      Stop buying cheap Chinese crap. Every cheap LED I owned died. Every cheap other light also died. Been using "proper" LEDs like Philips, Toshiba, Osram and my utility costs are now halved.

    I see these every now and then and they are still quite blinding. It's not as bad as regular high beams in your face, but the lights are still very bright, causing your eyes to adjust to them. Then oncoming traffic can't see in the dark

    1:07 I think I found a flaw what happens if the other car on the left side it can be the first one or the second one has the same system of light will they be able to see each other?

    • @FORVIAHELLAGroup
      @FORVIAHELLAGroup  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ed,
      irrespective of the System of light, the cars will be able to see each other. The light system will only dim the highbeam if it detects another car, but the function of the normal headlight remains, so there is still light to light up the street.

    Hi Hella !! I have a few question about this system. 1 Does it really work and has been tested in real situation ? 2 This is an Audi yeah ? ... but what would be the cost to have it on a ordinary car ... suppose (to stay in germany); a little Polo car ? 3 Is that system can be « fitable » on any car’s ? If not why ? Thanks for all answers.

      Hello Corsaire Peter,
      The system works and is available science 2013. The first
      use was in 2013 for the Audi A8. But there are a lot of different uses and
      functions for it. These systems are not retrofitable because they are developed for a special model of vehicle so that they could be bought optional.
      We hope that this will help you! For further questions please contact us again!

    Need these for a 05 escalade. If you don’t make them , make a plug and play kit. (Great idea btw), not everyone can afford a 2018 audi. But everyone needs to see at night. So why not make it for multiple vehilces and make more money!?

    This invention is very good but it will be less successful if it's made more universal rather than exclusive to new cars models,so it can bring even more money to the company if they think about retrofit and after market head light, bringing this technology to older cars means also saving more lifes on roads and making money in the process...so it is all good 😁

    Good lightning for the owner but I'm sceptic about disturbing other drivers. It's stated that this lights does not glare others, but I see problem elsewhere. Cars equiped with this kind of lights also iluminate road to other users in near visinity and when they leave them they also take the ilumination. To some point I find this disturbing since for the others it's the same thing as turning the light out.

    • @Hirotoro4692
      @Hirotoro4692 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +b novak Don't be stupid. By your argument, every time a car leaves a road with street lights and goes onto an unlit road, their headlights would randomly switch off. If your illumination is taken away from other road users, they still HAVE THEIR OWN FUCKING HEADLIGHTS to rely on.
