Many of my co-workers work three or more jobs and still qualify for food stamps. Yet, folks boast how great the economy is. I am not interested in this type of economy for my country. Words are n the wind when people are struggling in survival mode. I pray senses are heightened and hearts are touched.

People are full of BS when they boast about this economy. I know many people who are having a very difficult time financially and you can't tell by looking at them. they drive nice cars and live in fairly nice homes. But their hours are cut. Or they have lost a job. They are renting rooms out of their homes. Taking on side hustles. This 'greatest economy in the world' is absolute BS. It was this way before Covid too.

@Rex Icarus you just showed your privilege and ignorance. What makes you think people in these situations are “popping out kids?” Good grief. You must live in a quite privileged city.

There's no way a gasket kit/rebuild kit costs as cheap as $34 let alone labor and then you need to resurface the head at the machine shop.

@@MrTmenzo it comes in a bottle called "BLUE DEVIL". It fixed the blown head gasket in my L8000 dump truck 3 years ago. Still holding strong. I've done 3 cars successfully, best stuff since sliced bread. If it doesn't work for some reason, then and only then do you go to a shop.

Biden will continue to foster an environment where the anger of the working class can only find an outlet through toxic right-wing fascism. The Democrats have fully suppressed any outlet for left-wing socialism, so in turn, right-wing fascism will continue to rise. If you think Trump is bad, just wait until we have Biden's fullblown corporatist administration during one of the worst economic downturns yet.

We now have children in NZ who are seeking Child Sponsorship !! Rents astronimical. It is rent before food. People living in cars. This is a worldwide problem-- child poverty and poor parents trying their very best to raise their children . Govt doing a lot of talking of building social housing but it is not being built for the renters. It is being built for first home buyers and then the houses over 1/2 million $ to buy. You cannot stay long term in camping grounds. There are no trailer parks.

I do not know what is up with the US and cars..... she lives across the street!!! Why shouldn‘t they walk? InEurope we easily walk to the train stations, 3km is not uncommon. Or we use our bike to get our groceries.
I understand that financial situations are now critical. But showing the mother without a car - just going down the road - i don‘t feel it really reflects the whole situation. It is healthy to walk and bike!

I lived in Japan and France and I would walk and take public transportation everywhere (loved it). Now that I live in America, I had to buy a car(public transportation where I live is terrible) but at times I still walk because it feels good but whenever I do people stare at me. I suppose people think I don't have a car.

There is a stigma attached to being a non-driver in the U.S. I switched to a bike over 10 years ago, because I no longer needed a car, and a number of my friends dropped me. I decided I no longer needed them, either. Really.

This is a small town in Ohio, there is no public transportation. Walking across the streer isn’t a big deal, but for her to hold a job she likely needs a car, as she may work or find work an hour away. If you have never been to the US, or have only been to LA, NYC, Disney World, you have no idea what our country is like. How vast it is, how many small towns/rural communities there are, etc. I live just 30 miles south of a city, there are no trains/subways/buses for me to get to my job, there are highways to use a car on.There aren’t bike paths either, it would be foolish to ride a bike on the interstate.
