I feel like Itachi being a good guy is one of the biggest plot twists in Naruto. The insanely feared way he was firstly introduced, a killer, a traitor, a psychopath. It was really heartbreaking learning that he was just an innocent soul with nothing but good intentions. His theme is gentle and calm, just the way he is. Hides a lot more meaning. Amazing character

King Kylie i thought of a few points that may or may not make you think other wise 1. If he didn’t kill all of them, that would’ve created even worse things. The Uchiha knew the Leaf were not completely with them, so they would’ve assumed it was the Leaf, creating an all out war of Uchiha vs The Leaf. Sure, Itachi might have killed a few hundred Uchiha, but he probably saved thousands of people in the long run. It was needed to be done once Shisui died. 2. If that got out that Itachi did it not out of spite, but because the Leaf told him too. People in the leaf would panic because who knows if they might get killed next, and then probably people would revolt because they killed people from their village to over throw the higher ups in the leaf. 3. Itachi was completely against killing his clan. He thought of a few ways, none of them would work except Shisui casting Kotoamatsukami against the entire clan. That was the plan, and then all of a sudden Shisui is dead. Itachi probably thought if he kept refusing that plan, he himself would die. But he couldn’t die a noble death because if he died it wouldn’t have mattered. They would’ve just found another person to kill the clan so that would’ve done nothing.
I know i shouldnt say this, but we were all thinking this in their fight. If Itachi wanted to, he couldve killed Sasuke in two minutes flat. Maybe 3 because of his sickness.

This proofs that power is indeed everything and those with power controls who lives and who dies. The hidden leaf village will forever be the eternal paradox, Madara was right in alot of ways but we learn quickly that his own distrust caused the uchiha downfall. Sasuke and Itachi were just in the middle of it all, with no way to control or save anyone. Not even themselves.
