    These PDF plans really makes this easy. I've built the fountain and the shrine so far, they totally go together! Plus, they both fit perfectly on top of my 3x3 tile system. Love that these pieces really can represent many different things. Trading posts or infernal portals!

I still have my boxed set of HeroQuest, played it to death when it first came out. Liked and saved on my favorite list for later.

      @@TabletopWitchCRAFT Definitively the way to go with it and maybe at first they don't notice it. They were infected with some like hallucinogen gases, or the creatures that came out surprised them, bit them, got infected and if they don't get help they'll get like a cures of some sort. Then the fountain will be the way to lift the curse. Uff! It's official now, challenge accepted. Thanks again for sharing, can't wait for the next build. Well I really have to wait though lol.

    You're kind of artistic precision is the tabletop gaming equivalent of Prog-Metal within heavy music. Precise. Meticulous. Deliberate. I could never, comfortably, create this way - it's beyond me...& it's astonishing how you're able to artistically sculpt in this manner - & let's be honest, you're not creating instruments of game play...
    You're masterfully creating small jaw dropping functional pieces of art. Absolutely amazing. True ART.
    There's no other word for it.
    Astounding.

    So, amazing piece again. I totally like that it is modular. I noticed you put the magnet it, but then didn't attach anything to it. BTW, crafting tip: to save magnets, i have been using plain old Daisy BB's. They are steel and like 350 of them are under a dollar at Walmart. Being steel they have enough iron to stick to the magnet.

    My daughter and I decided that we have to try making this. We live in New Orleans and a lot of our cemeteries have these because you can't just bury caskets in the ground. Ours won't be as elaborate as yours because we've never done anything like this. But we thought we could give it a try and make a cemetery to represent New Orleans.

    Might be a cool idea to add some more inserts to give it even more uses. Maybe an insert for the backside when using it as a cryptentrance to give some more illusion of depth to the piece. Or another side to the gate so it would work well even as a freestanding gate, like an entrance to the cemetery itself. Lots of possibilities!

  • @michaelshort1411
    @michaelshort1411 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really like this build. The only thing I wouldve done differently was for the crypt was maybe bring the doors or the back wall of the mausoleum a little more towards the panel with the fountain to give it a look like the mausoleum look bigger some what since there is so much empty space between them. But I agree it looks awesome

    • @TabletopWitchCRAFT
      @TabletopWitchCRAFT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A very cool idea Michael... and thanks!

    • @michaelshort1411
      @michaelshort1411 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like maybe have the doors and the backside up closer to the easter egg to eliminate some dead space between the two, but still allowing a little bit of space between them so that over time the egg doesnt rub indentations into the other pieces.
      Since you had already placed the magnet into the face of it. You couldve placed the fountain panel on then rather marking where the door panel was to be placed like you did in the video. Just attach the doors directly behind it so you know for sure how close you needed to put them and like I said giving the look the mausoleum is much bigger.

    John, your builds are absolutely amazing. I look forward to your videos every week, you've inspired me to make my builds more and more modular using your magnet technique. This is yet another example of brilliant creativity! I would like to ask if there is another type of material you would recommend instead of the toy egg shell, since those seem to be sold out in my region.

    • @TabletopWitchCRAFT
      @TabletopWitchCRAFT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love to hear that Nicholas! The egg is used as a "skeleton" for the clay... You could use two sections of an egg carton, tape them together and use that for your form. You could glue an XPS foam block together to that size and carve it out of that. You could even form that shape out of a tin foil. Let me know if any of these techniques work for you.

      @@TabletopWitchCRAFT I run a Dungeons and dragons game at a comic book store in Brunswick every two weeks. I am running a party through Curse Of Strahd, and just focusing right now on making little bits of scatter terrain to put down on my white gridded battlemat, Covered with two pieces of plexiglass and I use dry erase markers. You do some great work man!

    Something like that would likely be built of linestone or marble I would think.

    Great build! Personally love the look of the metal doors and the lion fountain as small details like that really take it to the next level. As far as the white-brown stone material, I think limestone, marble, and granite are (or were) all commonly used, but whatever stones were locally available would work for gravemarkers, crypts, stone coffins, and mausoleums, so it sounds right to me! (Not an expert, just an educated guess.)

    Hey, John. Was the stone you were thinking of called travertine? Another top notch build with built-in versatility. Nice work. So, I was thinking: do you have a Dremel tool? It's very handy for crafting and I use mine a lot especially when I'm working on Gaslands vehicles. But it's very versatile and can drill, cut, grind, and more. I noticed you could have used one instead of the heated paperclip method for making the hole in the plastic egg. It could also take the place of a pin vise, too. Just an idea. Anywhootie, thanks for sharing. Cheers, --Bo

      Hey Bo, yep, I have one. I used it every now and then in my builds. I used it a lot in my foam roller video. As for the stone Travertine... sit tight, I have a video in 2 weeks that is made to look exactly like that stone! Great minds think alike :)

    I really enjoy your video's. I am subscribed. I watch other video's by other people but, I always feel RUSHED and exhausted by the end of the video and I hate the screaming, I also don't like it when people put their political leanings on their video's, with your style, I have time to digest what I am seeing and hearing. Keep up the great work and, I will continue watching. OH!...I don't do patreon right now because I live on a fixed income, I hope you understand.
