I am Australian but I really hope in my lifetime that a team like USA or Japan or even one of the Pacific Islands can win a World Cup. There is just such a gap between the premier teams (All Blacks, Springboks, Ireland, Wales, etc) and the lower tier teams.

As French it Was not a pleasant game, USA played quite well in defense, despite several knock0n on both sides... due to humidity/rain. Nevertheless, it could have been worse for USA (2 times Raca lost the ball within the American 10m). Not bad for US team, courageous, but still a long way to go.... Only a fool would under estimate the US side. Consider the top side comes from a nation of 4.7 million people, it's not a number game. It's a culture game, it's a style game. More than that it's a game about connections. Knowing your teammates and where they are going to go and where they will be and even simply trusting them to hold their line too. There is a time to play it safe, play it by the numbers. there is also a time to roll the dice and play it where it lands. Any good team does both, if just to keep the other team guessing. The worst thing you can be is predictable. So many times I see teams with all the right building blocks put together in all the wrong ways.
