Thank goodness she insisted on not making it "brand new" and kept all the lovely character. "Home should be a visual memory of your life... It shouldn't be too perfect. " The best home advice I've heard on Homeworthy yet!
I love Homeworthy, live near one of the homes they showed in Glen Cove N.Y. what a treat as I pass by the house every day and wondered what it looked like inside, it was amazing. just wanted to share
I wish the camera man would have done more sweeping views, after she finished chatting about the interesting bits; I love seeing how decor flows (all) together. Regardless, it’s a 5⭐️ tour.
I do love to get to know Ms. Hazlewood but its so unfortunate that the photographer focuses on her instead of what she's trying to show us! Your viewers are here to see the house and we only get seconds of what the talented designer is trying to highlight. I've found this to be true for so many Homeworthy videos.
Yes, love this channel and all the homes. Glad we are getting more videos, just want the quality of filming to remain consistent as the earlier films. Slow movements over the furniture or showcasing the rooms, right quality of camera to counteract natural light to showcase right colours, and showing the homes with a tour from the guests. Still a big fan!
"The Sunday Times Style" TH-cam channel also produced a video of Jodie Haxelwood's home (3 months ago) ❤ th-cam.com/video/-saUkgNMUXk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gRENVOY0FUUnWscS
I agree! It’s been a trend lately--focusing on the life story of the owner and every backstory for each wot not and Knick knack. Some of that is good and interesting, but the focus should remain on overall interior design, architecture, landscape, etc IMO.
Definitely one of my favorite homes that you’ve ever showcased. It is also comfortable looking and lived in. And nothing about it looks formal. I’m not a big fan of the houses that look formal and yet the owner says you can sit anywhere put your feet on anything and yet you look around and you would never ever do that. This place looks like I could really live there.
I would love to hear her speak more about her life and how she ended up working in interiors! She seems like an amazing businesswoman. I love her home too, and how she's not afraid to mix low budget and higher quality items- so refreshing to see someone blending Ikea into their space like us mortals lol!
Beautiful home. I agree, that I don’t like that the current trend, which is to destroy the original architecture of old homes to replace it with new banal designs. I also hate the common open concept. I love this home, especially the kitchen.
I love what Jodie created, her eclectic style and love of colour. Her designed furniture pieces are stunning. Jodie is down to earth and real, just lovely. I love that she is not shy to say that she sources things from fleamarkets, Ikea, online, desingers, etc. Often the best things that are found are picked up at a second hand shop, fleamarkets, charity shops, etc. Those quirky pieces that have age and patina that bring out the individual personalities of one's home. Jodie is real to be able to say "when we didn't have the budget, we put in a steel shelf in the kitchen" , or "when we need to save on electricity, we can light a wood burner in winter". The coffee station in the lounge off their main bedroom is a great idea. I can see her and her partner all cozy, making a nice cup of coffee, and cuddling on the couch next to a crackling fire and waking up to the day. I can see her and her partner have put their heart and soul into their home. It appeals to me in every way. Inside and out. It is truly a home filled with love and their fur baby. Wishing them many years of joy in their lovely home. 🏡
I like this kind of interesting colorful home much more than the fancy grand mansions with more standard taste, but also much more forgettable. This feels like a real home with layers and depth
Loved that she's not afraid of color! Loved the accent. Loved what she said about a house looking lived in and not too pristine. Hate when I walk into a house and it looks like a bank lobby or a funeral parlor, or a hotel lobby. This was fun!🎉
This is not necessarily the norm. Where I live, most people seem to be into monochromatic colours and modern furniture. So much of the home appears cold. Meanwhile, I seem to sit alone in my English country 1940s inspired interior. No, it’s not full of patterns, but it is full of comfort with traditional English country colours.
What a cozy and fun space. I love how she "turned down the noise", so to speak, in the bedroom..it's pretty and in keeping with the rest of the house but a more soothing environment, which is as it should be.
I really enjoyed seeing her although it was supposed to be a home tour. There were so many beautiful things and areas of the home, the powder room for one, that I wish they delved further into. She was so welcoming though and I loved hearing her speak💞👌🏾
A masterclass on mixing color, pattern, and texture in the coziest AND chicest ways possible. And that upstairs nook with bath and coffee bar is the stuff of dreams.
❤ her ideas transformed into not your quintessential English home. She has vibrant color, inviting textures and idealic areas to enjoy while relaxing. We'll done for a vibrant engaging home. 🇺🇸 she's nailed the idea of beautiful living
Completely agree with the comments regarding the photography. So many times we're getting glimpses of the home for a couple of seconds. But i love her home. Its my style, colourful and eclectic ❤
The dining chairs look exceptional. I kept looking at them... they are a focal point with their aqua blue color which is so complementary to the living room area.... Ikea or not.
I've seen this home before and couldnt resist watching again. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at one of their dinner party's, I bet there's a real friendly atmosphere with lots of interesting conversation and raucous laughter as the night wears on.🍾🥂. I love the green in the guest room and the charming sitting room ajoining their bedroom. The wallpaper is absolutely perfect. Such a lovely lady too. Downside is the filming, they didn't allow us time to see details, let alone the items and features she was talking about. Not sure if this was not your usual cameraman because it was filmed in England. This episode could have been so much better, given that she was allowing us to look in hidden/closed in cupboards etc, not the usual glass doored china cabinets that are always pristine.
i LOVE THIS PERSON. she's so fabulous and the home is just so warm and appealing...it's just fantastic. I'm going to watch this more than once because it's just so informative and inspiring.
I love the statement of "A home should be a visual memory of your life". That resonates so much. A beautiful home and beautiful owner. Also, you can never have too many books in my opinion.
This is such an interesting, beautiful home. Everything has a story. She is telling stories throughout this vlog. This is a home of stories. Am I proud of those light shades in the dining room from my country South Africa. I have hung one huge one in my house. I just love watching this vlog. I loved watching the previous vlog of her house as well. Love it. Felicity Jacobs, Cape Town, South Africa
It's really beautiful! I have switched dimmers on all my overhead lights which is super simple to do so I can still use them on very low and of course use all my table lamps with them for a moody vibe.
Homeworthy, you delight and inspire me. The range of homes that you find is incredible. I look forward to each episode and watch my favorites over and over. What I find interesting is the level of ‘love’ that each person brings to their home. So many times they say how much they love something either for its sentimentality or simply because it’s beautiful. Here we are in a gorgeous eclectic home in England, before that it was a very curated home on Nantucket and before that Bermuda. Thank you so very much for finding these homes and thank you to everyone who graciously shares them with us.
Yay! Another charming & characterful English home… I am a tad biased as England is home to me…. So good to see personality, interest & a fun factor…❤❤❤
There isn't one square inch of this home that I don't absolutely love. So cozy, so pleasing to the eye and just somewhere that anyone whether guest or homeowner would enjoy spending lots of time. I totally understand why this is her most favorite place on earth. Beautifully done!
I'm in the USA and unfortunately, in a rather small apartment but like you, I love "coming home". I lean towards the boho-eclectic style and have to say, your home is one of the best "tours" I've watched. I like everything! Including the "tattered" rug.
You house is beautiful Jodie I love. I like the way you make you house, to be comfortable in relaxing for family and friend to enjoy and be happy. I love your decor style from wall color, furniture and decor pieces and also the antique you have around you house. Thank you very much homeworthy , to bring all of us to Jodie Hazlewood , to her beautiful home , she is amazing and have good personality, I love her😂🥰
I love all Homeworthy tours but this one was epic. I had to keep pausing and rewinding to take in everything that Jodie said. So many amazing ideas and details. That bookcase wall, the colours, the details. A home to aspire to!
Very cozy home that feels quaint and a special place to live and visit. Very nice job on your renovations in knowing what to keep and what to remodel. Beautiful! ❤
This is not typical English house. Most of them have wall to wall carpets in all the rooms. I have even seen some with carpets in the bathroom 🤯 but yeah this house is beautiful.
Oh yes! British and NYC homes rule! You do get the odd farmhouse in the Northeast that is absolutely fabulous and welcoming. I believe the owners of all these homes have a love of travel and curiosity in other cultures as common traits.
Jodie is very skilled at working with colour and texture. A very clever yet sympathetic renovation. Thank heavens for nosy builders allowing that extra space upstairs. Love the dining hall, gives such a great flow. I now want a rocking horse mould! Gorgeous ottomans, chairs and fabrics throughout. The tiger print was a particularly beautiful one and the vintage chair in the bedroom is the stuff of dreams. Another excellent, inspiring tour. A joy to be able to see rooms and hear from the owner/creators without it all being crammed into 5 minutes. Jodie perfectly expressed the Homeworthy ethos - a home should tell the story of your life.
Jodie is delightful and so creative!. It is clear that she loves and treasures everything she owns. Love the story of the renovation journey. Jodie is warm and real, referring to budget, finding deals, and waiting on future products, like most of us, in real life. This is so much more interesting and inspiring than rich people spending tons. One of my fav videos! Thank you!
Oh yay! I'd seen this home on another channel and I hoped you'd feature it on here. Your videos always have such great detail, and this one was no exception. 💜
what a beautiful house and woman. Loved it. Here's constructive feedback comment for the production, I felt frustrated throughout the video as the camera was focussing on her instead of the house and house features. Which is the whole point of this video. Very important. There was so much beauty and inspirations to see and we didn't view much in the end. At least she was super lovely. hehe. Thanks.
I love all the colors and fabrics/textures jumbled together in what is a really soft space. Also, major score on the collection of Gmundner Keramic. Awesome!
Thanks for teaching me about Slim Aarons. I love the new courtyard and all the eclectic things from around the globe. I especially love the yellow checked couch 🤩
Renovations can include everything from cosmetic changes like fresh paint and new fixtures to more substantial alterations like what they did in this home. 🥰🥰
Lovely! Many thanks for sharing your gorgeous home with us. You are obviously very talented and I wish you well in your new career. Please give your swan a companion if you can...
What fun to live in that house ! Great mix of patterns and textures . Love the whimsical, relaxed and rustic elegance in your home. My favourite is your teal & red play in the living room. I’m in absolute love with Jodie’s home. Color! No fear. Adore everything and specially including art and decor her family and friends can appreciate. The windows and paint tones are perfect. Primary bedroom is precious!!The pup is sweet. Genuine lady with no pretentiousness. Love & light from California. ✨⚡️
I love that she has designed her home around what she and her husband love and are comfortable in. The coffee bar in the bedroom Suite sealed it for me! ❤️💕
Love that she's honest about budgets too.
Feel the same! It's a lot more helpful when you're looking for inspiration to get an idea of what things cost.
Thank goodness she insisted on not making it "brand new" and kept all the lovely character. "Home should be a visual memory of your life... It shouldn't be too perfect. " The best home advice I've heard on Homeworthy yet!

Love it when you feature "real homes" as opposed to over the top mansions
I agree and when I watch Homeworthy and a mansion is showing I swith to another. I watch for real ideas I can Do
What’s important is that she loves her home- that’s what a home is all about
yes I agree
Love how honest she is about where they made budget friendly solutions
What a dream to live in a home like this. She has exceptional taste.
Love viewing this kind of heavily eclectic and quirky home. But "exceptional taste" I wouldn't say applies.
Isn't she just a little diamond that emerged from the rough!
We love her.
Crazy how the house has lasted so long. I like that she styled it thinking of others and how they would feel being in that home. 🙂
I would love to hear her speak more about her life and how she ended up working in interiors! She seems like an amazing businesswoman. I love her home too, and how she's not afraid to mix low budget and higher quality items- so refreshing to see someone blending Ikea into their space like us mortals lol!

well said!
Yes, a home should be a soft place to fall, a warm hug.
Loved that she's not afraid of color! Loved the accent. Loved what she said about a house looking lived in and not too pristine. Hate when I walk into a house and it looks like a bank lobby or a funeral parlor, or a hotel lobby. This was fun!🎉
lol, can't agree more, love the way you describe bad decorating. You made me laugh so thanks man
The sitting room in the Owner's Suite is my favorite space. I need an upstairs coffee bar.
I've become a big fan of British design. They tend to be unafraid of mixing colors and patterns. This home is absolutely beautiful and inviting.
Same here. They use wallpapers without inhibition. I love the freedom without the obsession of real estate value.
This is not necessarily the norm. Where I live, most people seem to be into monochromatic colours and modern furniture. So much of the home appears cold. A fascinating person is reflected in the beauty of their home.
Jodie is as terrific as is her magical imagination and embrace of color. Thanks Homeworthy for this delightful video
Love her accent, sweetness, and she loves color, pattern and coziness like I do.🙂🙂❤️💯
I absolutely love this home. It's beautiful, eclectic, casual, and cool.

Lovely and down to earth! I enjoyed this video very much. Unfortunately the camera rarely stayed on what she was sharing. 😮

What a beautiful home and she seemed genuinely sweet
It was great to hear the stories of the renovation. Love the owners suite with the blue & white. 💙🤍💙also the water sounds on the outside space…
So in love with the pastel colors💙
Absolutely Delightful.... Love all of the colors and quirkiness!!! Just an absolutely charming home, for such a lovely lady and her mate ❤

Oh wow, another beautiful well collected home. This is going to be added to one of my favorites
What a lovely abode ❤
Adore Ms. Hazelwood’s aesthetic. Her home is lovely.
What a beautiful space! A lovely home.
You have sold me on the idea of telling real stories about how we live in our homes and the importance of sharing
that space with family and friends.
Just love this home. So inviting and full of character. Oh how I would love to be a guest there!
Oh how I envy this woman!!! What a gorgeous home!
Bringing Color Back! A woman after my own heart.

@@Semapho0orethis is English style. No house decorated since the 80s has carpet in the bathroom
Yes as a Brit living in London it’s more relatable, those big Dallas style mansions are another world.
@@lornamarie5544 Ok just saying. I've been to Nottingham 6 times in the last 3 years. I have seen many houses and not one had a hardwood floor.
