You can do it on orientation day, just take passport pictures of you and your gaurdian/parents

You'll have to buy it. They have a stall on campus during orientation days for mattresses,buckets and other essentials.

You can buy it from outside as well but its actually a little tedious to bring it back to hostel imo and orientation is usually the first 3 days, you'll get a formal mail for that I think
