Brian May has definitely still got it too. Johns key has not changed since he first sung this in 1986. RIP our beautiful Olivia ❤ Looking forward to Johns memoir coming out in October. John Farnham was over 70 years old here, just before his throat cancer diagnosis...and great performance from ONJ too..sadly one of her last. Mitch Tambo added another dimension to the song. Brilliant👍
@@deepcutsreactions7774 There seems to be a misconception that John had throat cancer, lots of people comment that, but he actually had mouth cancer, and had half of his jaw removed and reconstructive surgery. I don't know if we'll ever hear him sing again, but he has been declared cancer free, and in an interview late last year, his sons were asked if he'd ever tour or release music again, and they basically said that they didn't speak for him but "anything's possible... I think he'd like to, and he can definitely still sing". Even if we never hear him again, it gives me great pleasure to know that he's still able to sing for himself.

Great shout out to Dr_Kap. I'm subscribed to her channel....anyone who is not, check it out. ❤ This was the Fire Fight concert, in 2020 (I think) and they paid homage to the volunteers. This song is almost an anthem. Check out You're The Voice with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. John has has some rough periods in his life. He started as a youngster, was King of Pop for quite a while. He almost went broke and his manager funded an album when no one else would, and this song was one of those on that album. He heard this song and recorded it without the permission of the songwriter, and showed them the result after. I really don't think anyone else would have done it this much justice. It is a masterpiece. Not sure what genres you've checked John out with. He can sing anything, opera, rock, ballads. Check our his warm up (vocals only) of Black Dog. He has some pipes for sure. Olivia Newton John was loved in Oz. This is not the first time they've performed together. They were great friends. RIP ONJ 🕊
This was a charity event called fire day For the fireys who where on stage as their all volunteer's Our bush fire fighters are farmer worker from the country Every district has volunteer's fighters and they get some government funding for equipment But have to do alot of fund raising as well to get what they need as government's money runs the equipment And buys some but not all The businesses give fire fighters time of and if big fires they can leave work to fight them sometimes weeks or bad ones months Some companies will keep paying their wages other don't if bad enough the payed city fire fighters will go and protect the town areas So locals can fight in bush as the vechiles are different the city ones to big heavy and 2 wheel drive and no protection agianst a flash over where fire trucks get caught in the fire the country trucks have some protection but if real bad they dont survive john was in his 70s from memory around 73 Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
Too much going on at same time to really be a decent version of this song. But it was clearly a concert to raise funds for bushfire relief in one of our bad summer fire seasons so I respect they had their heart in the right place.

That makes me think of Julie Andrews who lost her voice through a botched surgery. It must be tough to lose such a defining feature of who you are.
