    Absolute all high lumen flashllights can light a fire. This might be a surprise, but there is really no exeptions. Fenix do it. Nitecore do it, Peax do it. Everybody do it

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I haven’t been able to light anything on fire with my fenix or my Peax.

      Does yours completely dicharge down to nothing when it's been in storage for a few months? Mine does.

    I find it disappointing that after 9 months of data was collected, none of the data was shared, and the decision came down to personal preference. For all the hype surrounding PEAX, I'm not seeing alot of technical data to back the claim

    Typically how long a headlamp can stay at 1,000 lumens is due to its thermal management. The longer it can stay cool the longer it can run at a high lumen setting before having to step down to lower lumen settings.
    Great review!

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a great point. I should get one of those thermo guns and monitor the temps next time I do a round of testing. Thanks man.

    Another great review sir! I’ve owned so so many battery powered headlamps and three years ago I switch to rechargeable headlamps, some thing that I have noticed with all of my high-end rechargeable headlamps is that none of them allow you to charge the headlamp while also having it on until I bought the Peax. That feature along with the ultra long battery life and the ability to run a super bright red LED for those long hikes off the mountain was a win-win for me and it’s my number one flashlight as of right now.

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had no idea you could charge it while the light was on. Super cool. Thanks for sharing.

    Great review! I own the Peax already, but I haven’t had any issues with slippage- mine seems to remain tight while under tension.
    Worth noting on your comments on the IpX6 rating. It doesn’t mean it can’t be submerged at all, just that it can’t be submerged for 30 minutes at 1 meter. I would feel comfortable rinsing mine off in a creek real quick. Just my 2 cents.

    I personally own both the old version and the new version of the Peax headlamp. Did you know the light can be removed/pulled off the plastic attachment peace and be used in your hand than quickly snapped back on to your head? That feature has come in handy many times in the field for me. I have also personally dropped the old version into the river at about 1ft of water while running bright read light and it still works normal… That could just be luck though! I would think the charging spot would be the sketchy point in water if it’s not tightened down properly. The price in the USA is $89.95, but I think your in Canada which based off your review cost more. Good review, keep pushing out good content!

    However if like me and wear cloths with pockets why not carry a spare battery?
    Compared to a car battery at 15,000 grams a 18650 or 21700 is slightly lighter at 50/70 grams and it wony weight you down

I have a similar fenix but use it as my backup, I use a petzl bindi as my main because you can’t even feel it on your head and it slips into a cargo pocket nicely during the day.
