There"s zero "advantage" in learning & trying to talk "fluently" in another language. It is hard work, passion & dedication that can help someone another language and open mindness about other cultures. It is a labour of love for other people worldwide to do so. I can tell since english is not my mother language either. What Mr Cassel does here is just phenomenal and shows up what a great human being & mind he is. Speaking & understanding just 2 languages is remarkable but FIVE ? I am really surprised about Portuguese. I am Spanish and I can speak all those languages but French. He does all very well. Some people have the talent for languages.
My dream is to speak all of these languages. I speak Portuguese and English, and I dabble with these other three. When you know a Latin language, it’s easier to pick on the other ones. But mostly understanding, associating words, inferring what a word might be, because each one has their phonetics, expressions, etc. It’s still a difference language. But Cassel is nailing it!
