mengingatkan saya pada masa sekolah menengah atas kelas 1 di tahun 70-an , ketika nonton midnight cowboy... lagu yg cantik sekali.. reminds me of high school grade 1 in the 70s, when watching midnight cowboy ... what a beautiful song ... ..reminds me of high school grade 1 in the '70
The original is by Fred Neil whom wrote the song. His version was way better than this or nilsens which was commercialized and didn't capture the true meaning of the song. Everyone should listen to Fred Neil's version. It's the gold standard.
Thank you for keeping true to the pace of the original song. The lyrics demand there is a hurried and purpose driven pace filled with momentum and destination even if unknown. The guitar expertly captures this. Again, thanks. BTW, I remixed this, gave it a larger sound stage, re-worked the voice and guitar a bit and it really just pops now. One of my favorites.
The song was written by Fred Neil and his version is light years better than all the other covers. His voice is remarkable and so is his guitar. You should take the time to listen to it.
@@rjpg It's a matter of opinion. Fred Neil wrote the song and his version captures the true feel of the song. Do a little research on Fred Neil and his life and the meaning of the song become clear. Fred's voice and his guitar work bring out the best of it. The song was about him and his feelings so no one can better capture those emotions than him. He didn't write the song as a movie track.
@@williamryan7403 I like the Nilsson version the best and for some reason, most covers are slower, like Fred Neil's. Tom's tempo version is like Nilsson's, so that's my favorite cover. Its music SOUND I like, music HISTORY is secondary.
@@rjpg Actually it's a story. Read up on Fred's life and where he's from. It explains the reason he wrote the song, even the guitar gives the song a feeling of what he's thinking. Fred was a.master song writer and guitar player. His music was recorded.by lot's of musicians of the era. Including Jefferson Airplanes " The other side of this life", another song about what was going on with Fred's life. Nillisons version was a commercial adaptation ,slicked up,cleaned up with that stupid Waaaa,Waaa chorus. He made it top 40 out of a simple folk song.
The original written and sung by Fred Neil is the best version. Fred had a beautiful voice and was a guitar master. The song is about him wanting to go home to Coconut Grove,Fl.
What just happened! 😮 I'm am so a new subscriber! Got my heart on the first vocal note! ❤ Cheers from the high desert! 🌵 🐢 🌞 🌼 🌻 I'm where the weather suites my clothes! 😊 😉
👏👌Everybody's talking at me I don't hear a word they're saying Only the echoes of my mind People stopping, staring I can't see their faces Only the shadows of their eyes I'm going where the sun keeps shining Through the pouring rain Going where the weather suits my clothes Banking off of the northeast winds Sailing on a summer breeze And skipping over the ocean like a stone I'm going where the sun keeps shining Through the pouring rain Going where the weather suits my clothes Banking off of the northeast winds Sailing on a summer breeze And skipping over the ocean like a stone Everybody's talking at me Can't hear a word they're saying Only the echoes of my mind I won't let you leave my love behind No, I won't let you leave I won't let you leave my love behind
Awesome cover! High quality musical accompaniment and good vocals. I personally prefer the original by Fred Neil and the covers by Ryan Cook. But you guys did an excellent job covering the Nilsson version. Love it.
2 hrs into TH-cam Search and Sing. Was Blowin' my voice out messing around with everything. I STFU when Homie started singing. GREAT TONE GREAT CONTROL BEAUTIFUL REP. (MAYBE BETTER) THAN THE ORIGINAL.
Hey Tom, could I have permission to use this brilliant version of this amazing song in a photograph montage (sport) I'm putting together. I would love to give you credit.
