  • Upgraded B’Twin Elops 100 single speed city bike. Bought as a built bike from Decathlon, some of the components were swapped right off the bat to update to new standards and ensure long-term reliability of the bike--from ball-bearing to sealed-bearing headset and BB; from steel to aluminum alloy crank arms; from seatposts with removable saddle clamps to Laprade-style seatposts, and more.

    Hi Joel, props for the video, nice camera work BTW. Top notch upgrade, looks way better than stock. Is the Elops 100 worth it in stock form for 12K Pesos at Decathlon PH? No plan to customize, I intend to ride it beach in Elyu with a Surf rack. The road would be flat and maybe a 10 minute ride. It'll be my first Decathlon Bike, the only other bike I have is a Giant Escape Base model size small. Should I get the small Elops 100, I am 5'5. Thanks in advance.

      Thanks!
      It should be fine for the type of riding you intend to do with it. I can’t recommend a size for you since that subjective. Best to check the bike for yourself before buying. There’s a degree

      @@CustomBuildsYT Thanks Joel, appreciate the super quick reply. What size is your Elops 100 and how tall is your Papa? Thanks again.

    Nice build and vid man! Love your setup too. It's nice to learn from. Really looks like a nice budget ISH bike to buy tbh.
    How heavy is the bike though? Would you say it's easy to carry with one arm over a pedestrian bridge?

      Thank you! Decathlon says the original spec bike is 14.6 kg. I would say it's less than that now. Since we removed/swapped out a number of parts already. It doesn't feel like a 14 kg bike though when riding it.

      @@CustomBuildsYT thanks! Well when I do get it, I'll try using your build as inspiration. It looks like a good city bike for me.

      @@CustomBuildsYT Bro! How that frame-bike FIT TO A 1.8 meters men? Thanks

    • @CustomBuildsYT
      @CustomBuildsYT  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @cl4udioiturra Adjusting the seat post and stem should do the trick. That’s the beauty of a quill stem-plenty of adjustment without much effort.

      @@CustomBuildsYT"Wow, thanks, man! The Elops 100 is sold in only one size, but the Elops 520, which has almost the same frame, is available in XS, M, L, and XL. That's why I was wondering if the Elops 100 would fit a tall man.

      how tall r u? Because at 15:52, that bike is clearly too small for you.

    I have had zero replies from Decathalon since purchasing the Elops Hoprider 100, 21-Speed Aluminum City Bike. Is there a manual? Or tools that were to come with it? If anyone has a PDF manual that would be great.

      @@CustomBuildsYT Thanks for the recommendation. The link unfortunately is dead for the Bike PDF though. May I ask you, what is the button switch for, on the handlebar? it doesn't seem to do anything? It isn't connected to anything either??

    • @CustomBuildsYT
      @CustomBuildsYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im not too sure. The model we built is the single speed variant. I'm guessing the button you're referring to has something to do with the dynamo and lights?

    Kumusta po elops 120 long term use?

    • @CustomBuildsYT
      @CustomBuildsYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Experience may vary. We were not able to test it at its stock configuration since we upgraded it right off the bat. We also don’t use it on a daily basis. If there’s one thing about it that was problematic, it’s the braking system.

    • @CustomBuildsYT
      @CustomBuildsYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The frame's BB shell is BSA, 68mm. We installed a 107mm spindle square-tapered bottom bracket on it.
