Thanks! Yes I've taken the car for a few drives. The needle doesn't move at all. Stays right at 180 deg. Someone on FB said they have a 160 deg thermostat and even hovers around that for them No highway driving. Car still desperately needs some tuning and track time though!
@@beaumontracer1640 To be honest, I don't personally think 160 degree coolant is a good idea. Oil does not get to optimal temp and will suffer in lubrication properties. I also don't think running a lower temp thermostat really affects combustion temp that much either. At least that's what I've heard. I wouldn't make the jump personally.

My -88 2.8 runs very cold when driving. It has rather had me think it might be a bit large cooler for the car? The plan is to swap in a 3.4 that will be around 250 hp so maybe I should start planning for a radiator change.

Same thing with the union here. Thanks for posting.
No prob! Yeah I doubt anyone will be able to get that off without messing it up, mine is even a pretty rust free car.
Great how-to. I did that on my 88 as well. Sure wish I'd had this guide when I did mine.
Have you had a chance to test it in real world conditions?

@@FieroAustin That's great news! I wonder if a 160deg thermostat would be too cool to run with e85. Any thoughts?

What radiator is this and where did you get it?

Hey Austin, thanks for the videos! Where did you find the baffle materials?

I think your stock radiator will still work for the 3.4 but it can't hurt!
@@FieroAustin yeah. Ill have to see after I got the engine in perhaps.
Good guide anyways 👍
@@magnusdanielsson2749 Thanks!
Great video! I wanna upgrade my radiator so this helped out alot. Thank you
You are welcome!!! Good luck. Definitely worth it with a 3800 in there. Night and day difference.
@@FieroAustin Nice!
Where did you find your radiator
amzn.to/3bIcprb
I have the same radiator in my 88 Fiero
It looks to be a seriously common mod! Glad I was finally able to do it.
my radiator fan had four bolts.
huh...
Same I was so confused
