      is it possible to use a plastic tweezer, that way nothing gets pushed in before getting scooped out with the Q-tip, therefore causing less pain? or is this better?

      It's not really that hard to care for a guinea pig, it's just like any other animal you have to check them out occasionally and make sure there are no body abnormalities, and make sure they cleaned and cared for. This guinea pig is in awful shape the owners obviously didn't do much with him... And alot of the issues he had are preventable with proper nutrition and hygiene

      Just like with the puppies wanted at Christmas and neglected and/or abandoned months after. It's sad. But it doesn't really take any more time than raising a child. My son got a guinea from my sister and I bring my son to her house to learn how to do everything with Alfred, as well as for Alfred to get some socializing in with his old house mates. Cleaning the pocket has ultimately fallen on me lol but he does the cage cleaning and we share bathtime. I never knew we had to clean his whoohaa, though, I'll have to start doing that. This why I like to research before we get any animal but we just adore him and we do anything that is needed. For him, our dog and our leopard gecko. ❤❤

    I rescued a male guinea pig who’s blockage was worse than this. It was about the size of a baseball. I got him from the “humane” society. His name was manny. He had been there for a week, no food, no water, didn’t move, his nails were curled like curly fries from being so long. My poor baby made it 4 days with me and had 24 hour around the clock care but sadly passed. This was about a month or two ago. I created a guinea pig rescue after that named “Manny Hands” in his honor. Poor baby never got a chance to live. In his days with me he loved snuggling, he gave me kisses ALL the time and constantly would “talk” to me with his sad, raspy voice. He was only 2 years old, I feel so bad for him but I know I gave him an amazing last 4 days

If you raise them as foodstock, take care of them the best you can until they have to be consumed, even if they are meant to be food, that does not mean you should mistreat them, they are living beings!

      @Unrestricted Gaming there’s a difference between domesticated guinea pigs and wild guinea pigs. Domesticated are usually born in cages and know nothing else besides that. If a guinea pig like Raul would have been born in the wild, he would have most likely not have made it. This goes for dogs, cats, and any other kind of domesticated animal. If you disagree, you are probably close to an animal abuser. If you buy a pet, you are also buying all the necessary things they need to survive. Point blank period.

    • @sircatfish4402
      @sircatfish4402 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @Unrestricted Gaming Didn't see a single comma used, I have a hard time believing you have a degree in anything. Also, if you're going to treat your animal like they're wild animals, by your ideology, you might as well not have one at all and let them live in the wild without you by their side.

    • @sircatfish4402
      @sircatfish4402 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Unrestricted Gaming Didn't ask if you cared. By your logic we should put down anyone with mental or physical disabilities. By your logic, we shouldn't care whether animals go extinct or not. In fact, we should probably be fine with killing animals since we have no use for most of them as technology advances. It's not about ego, there's something called sympathy, which is a normal thing humans have. Who are you to say these animals wouldn't want to live? I'm sure if they didn't want to live, they'd probably die due to depression or stress but a lot of these animals that are saved go on to live happy and healthy lives with people that care about them. You sound very arrogant and angry, not very healthy, you should probably be put down by your logic.

    Oh no, bless him! You can tell he started to feel better once she started to take care of him. Especially when she rubbed the CBD oil on his ear.

    It makes me sad that people don't take the time and effort to know how to properly take care of their pets. Well, not all of them. They're just like any pet, they're just REALLY high maintenance because of what we see in these kinds of videos. It's not just a pet, it's a life-time commitment and you will have a best friend for that life-time!

      They live maybe 7 years so…not really a lifetime. It’s not a tortoise.

    I’m absolutely in love with him! What a special and sweet soul! So glad that he fit in with the boys and you are keeping him. Congratulations Raul on winning the lottery to get Saskia as your Mom!
