And just, it's such a good scene. It needs to be appreciated more.

I understand and get your aww yeee' enthusiasm for this but I'd figured I'd let ya'll know (5 months late) Cad is Asexual if not AroAce so while WHOO yeah their sexual tension is all cool and shit the best option for your shipping power is probably Widowhand and not WildBrothers.

Must say I agree with the sentiment of some of the commenters. Mostly because I see caduceus as almost compulsively the type of person who puts himself in the “oldest sibling” role in a lot of his relationships with people he finds himself caring about. And we all know Fjord is always looking for that mentor figure in his life, which nicely slots into Caduceus’s need to be a big brother to someone. Don’t get me wrong, I think they are great friends, but they are dear friends who also meet this need for each other. I genuinely love the comfy energy these two give off, like very dear family to each other. I think that’s something we all can agree on. Whatever their relationship, this comfy vibe they have is soothing and sweet.
Your Caduceus is the softest thing ever. I love this so much.

Fun fact about Firbolgs, they have the trait Powerful Build, meaning when they push, drag or lift something, it is as if they are a large creature (like a horse or ogre). So while Cad isn't the beefiest of the Nein, he can most definitely carry Fjord when he needs it the most.
I mean hes also a 7 foot tall cow man with a strength of at least +1

I'm actually playing a character who has that nurturing instinct him like Cad does, though most just see him as this Orc wearing full plate and riding a huge wolf, Loken is a big softy who taught the children of his village fundamental survival techniques before destiny called him, Cad was a big inspiration for Lokens personality and his ability to be this patient and caring man despite being a full blooded Orc, Talison is a fucking wizard
Honestly given the amount of characters hes gone through (all them spectacularly I may add) who knows maybe a wizard is in the cards
I Loved the added detail of cad handing fjord pieces of fruit while they talked it fits the scene so well and adds an extra layer of comfort
I love this scene and these character designs are *chef’s kiss*
If there's someone in your life who has inspired you to a point that it redirected your life, tell them that. It's very likely they're also dealing with some difficult things in their own mind, and hearing that very well might give them a similar "Everything I've done was worth it" moment.

i've seen the ship around and I was like NO THEYRE THE WILD BROTHERS and i still prefer it platonic (my headcanon is that Cad is aro/ace and Fjord doesn't seem that interested in relationships tbh) BUT IT DOESNT MEAN I DONT LOVE THIS ANIMATIC TO BITS AND IM FREAKING OUT OVER THIS SCENE they're so sweet and I love both of them so freaking much
Oh yeah same, I headcanon fjord as ace, mostly cause of Travis's play style in general and him just not being comfortable with romance/sexual interactions in his games, but they can still be wildbros and hold hands

I saw your art on Tumblr and I'm so happy you made an animatic, especially of this scene! You draw Caduceus so well. He is especially friend shaped.
You know, for a while I was unsure what I felt about the Fjord and Caduceus ship (I thought it was a bit too mentor and student-y for my tastes) but this animatic really is selling it hard lol
I always saw it as a older and younger brother duo, but this sells the ship pretty hard I’ll admit

Except for the fact that the “critter hug of death” is a complete myth. A hoax. Critters are atrocious at subscribing to animators. Look at how many views this video has. Now, look at the subscriber count. Now, go to ANY CRITICAL ROLE ANIMATOR ON TH-cam. Look at the VIEWS. Then look at the SUBSCRIBERS. There is no “hug of death.”

Also I apologize this is a little dumb but I absolutely loved your decision to to have Caduceus give Fjord little apple slices while they talked, it reminded me of this quote by Janet Malcolm in Iphigenia in Forest Hills:

The absolute softness on Cad's face the entire time they talk. It's all just so good & elevates this while scene. Like, I already imagined it going this way when they played, but to actually SEE IT? Damn. 😭)
