- This was by far the best doctor appointment yet, my husband was able to come and meet baby for the first time and we got a gender test! This pregnancy has already been so hard but I am so grateful for every part of it. We can't wait to find out the gender of our baby, comment below if you think it's a boy or a girl!

hi jess! to answer your question, the umbilical cord is attached to the placenta. the placenta is how the baby gets nutrients. when you give birth to baby, you also give "birth" to the placenta. when they cut the cord, it separates the baby and the placenta.

haha Brent is literally my husband every time he folds clothes. I know where all his stuff goes & he has no clue where mine go. its a lot of "where does this go?" questions 😆
Do the ring test on camera for us before you find out the gender! You tie your ring to a strand of your hair and hold it over your hand, if it spins in a circle it’s a boy, if it swings back and forth it’s a girl! (Also you can repeat to see the gender and order of all future kids and how many! When the ring stops that means you’re done) you have to try it 😍

Get your flu vaccine! It’s important!
The other end of the cord goes into the placenta and the placenta is attached to the uterine wall!
I cant tell you how excited I am for you! You and Brent are going to create a beautiful little human and y'all are so blessed! I just turned 30 weeks with a boy so for some reason I just have this feeling that you will have a little man. Love all three of you!

As for the flu vax don’t let them bully you into it and start digging into the tdap that they’ll want to give you in the third trimester- I was completely blindsided since I wasn’t expecting any shots and wish I could’ve done more research but I felt pressured to make a decision right that minute. Research is tough because you have to dig to read on both sides.. and since you’ve been tested for stds (I’m sure y’all are clean LOL) your baby does not need the hep b shot at birth!

There’s a handful of shots that they recommend during pregnancy (aside from the flu) just a heads up :) I can’t remember exactly but I remember one being for whooping cough and the other being a TDap? You can obviously always defer but i’d do your own research! The bloat will start to go away and be a real bump soon! So excited for you. Pregnancy is a beautiful journey

The umbilical cord is attached to the placenta. You birth that too and in your body there’s a wound the size of a dinner plate cuz you literally lost an organ. That’s why you have to be careful afterwards to take the time to heal!
