    This footage is the only one on the web showing a chamber performance with Segovia.

    When Segovia plays ,he not only plays smoothly (of course) but also intellectually and smartly.No one in this world can play like him !

      I always think it is the legacy of Segovia for people to learn to emulate his sense of mastery of his instrument.

    Genius...a serious artist who left a brilliant legacy. The only guitarist who could create poetry.

    Anyone who thinks Segovia was not the greatest guitarist ever - in terms of musicianship, expression and technique in the service of the music - needs to see this video. Thank you for posting!

    Many thanks for your reply, it's still wonderful, I've never heard this piece before!, in more than thirty years of playing and listening!. Thank you again. Gérard lacey in Ireland. X.

    Gaspar Cassadó was a great cellist ... in addition to knowing how to transcribe Boccherini's works from cello to guitar.
    He also composed works for guitar that Andres Segovia himself recorded for him.

      Cassadó was an incredible musician: I love playing his guitar pieces.

      @@segovianaofficial sorry to hear .. guess i saw it here first but that means little given the gem you discovered.. seems to be the nature of this and others platforms..no acknowledgment im guessing.. and hard to watch others get credit ..a bitter pill ..take heart maybe in what you freely gave..certainly appreciated by us .. thank you

    Wow! thank you for this!! i didn't know this. Awesome transcription. The three movements are incredible. I've been searching everywhere the sheet music, but i've only got the piano/guitar version.

    • @segovianaofficial
      @segovianaofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I have the same version as you: I was looking for the orchestral score on the Schott website, but I didn’t find it.

      Wonderful upload!
      I just saw this video on the other channel, but I read your commentary there and I came here! Thanks!
      I played this concerto a couple of times but only with piano and I am searching for the orchestral score as well. If one of us would get the score would write to the others!

    Yesterday a “famous” TH-cam channel reuploaded this video covering the Segoviana watermark. I was sure that this would have happened: it’s a little bit sad.

    Are you sure that this is New York? i think this is Italy. There is another video in youtube of Segovia playing in this same stage and it says it's Italy.

    • @segovianaofficial
      @segovianaofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Italian television broadcasted the concert, which was recorded in NY for the "Festival of Performing Arts" series produced by David Susskind and James Fleming. Unfortunately, some TH-cam channels are offering wrong information.
